Beijing is more about how it feels on the ground than how it looks from the air.

It focuses more on a livable city than a grandious skyline. Which is something that I really enjoy.

It's beautiful to walk in.

I can't believe Guomao (the black glassy building in the middle of 1st pic) is now such a dwarf over there. I used to ride bike passing it to school in my junior high school days (1992-1995) and that was the only building stood out along that avenue (East 3rd Circle).
The 1st thing I would do when I go back to Beijing next month is to jump on my old bike and take a ride on the old rout. I will be in tears.

Cladding not totally keeping up with height gains

(this is my second post to this Website, after the CCTV post, please let me know if anything goes against the site's etiquette- thanks!)

This is the same post I posted at skyscraperpage.com:

The cladding seems to be lagging behind the incessant progression of new floors being added, this is how high she's become now:

A close up of the highest point:

Tons of new images at the usual URL:

Enjoy.

I was just about to post the same.

...and guess what!? It doesn't have any fancy twirls and whirls, or no whacky zany shapes all over yet managing to be different.

I feel this is going to be another simple masterpiece, like the Comcast Center in Philadelphia.

Thanks for the pic updates General Huo & tombeijing (You're fine Tom. Great stuff & welcome ). Love the close-up of the cladding.
