Dubrovnik Airport

Before the war that brought Yugoslavia to its end, Dubrovnik airport in Croatia was Yugoslavia's second busiest airport. The war saw Serbian forces completely devastate Dubrovnik Airport in its entirety. The good news is that the airport is now fully operational with passenger levels increasing dramatically each year. Dubrovnik airport is close to eclipsing passenger levels to that of Zagreb airport in the nations capital.

Great pics..
Split looks fantastic... And although it's crowded, it's good to see so many people..

And where are the Pleso pics? And which other cities have apts? Osijek has one right? And Rijeka?

Brac Airport

This is our smallest airport, located on island Brac
Every year about 35000 passengers with the landing of 750 aircrafts pass through the airport which is a remarkable number considering the fact that it works only over the summer season.

Construction of new aiport facilities and buildings :

Pretty cool stuff. I have used both Zagreb and Split airports and I must say I found Split's airport the best one in Croatia. It was nice looking and I agree it was busy and crowded when I used it. However, everything went smootly and we were on the plane and taking off in no time. Their service was great and professional.

Someone find pics on Zagreb. I'll try but it is difficult. Zagreb's Pleso Airport is getting extended and therfore the current airport isnt exactly the best. Its OK, but will be better once its finally enlarged.

Does Pleso, Zagreb's airport have airbridges or do passengers have to board aircraft from the tarmac?

Each time I had to enter the terminal via tarmac (bus).

I cant remember them having airbridges but each time I came off my Croatia Airlines flight I boarded a bus which drove us a distance of 100m to the terminal LOL I think this is the process for all flights.

^ In Belgrade, there are airbridges, but I always have to use the bus, what's the point of airbridges there then?

Zagreb Airport does not have air bridges, it is old style airport, Belgrade and Sarajevo where only airport's in former Yugoslavia with air-bridges.

Belgrade has 11 (14) Air bridges and is able to handle 6-9 million passengers, where’s Sarajevo has 5 Air bridges (half of Sarajevo terminal is under re-pairs when money approved as a result 3 air bridges are out of commission)

Ljubljana and Dubrovnik should get air bridges with in next 3-5 years (Dubrovnik 8 and Ljubljana 7-8 air bridges), not sure what they going to do with Split airport, terminal is far to small to cope with larger traffic, Split could be stretched to handle 1.2 million, future of the airport is at stakes...

Zagreb is getting new Terminal, current terminal's capacity is maximum 2 million, new terminal should be completed by mid 2008 as capacity of current terminal will no longer be able to cope with passenger numbers.

New Zagreb Airport Terminal at first will have only 12-15 air bridges and be able to handle 1200 passengers per hour at peek time, but this might increase to 1500 and daily traffic of 20 000 passengers a day, giving terminal capacity of 7.2 million per year.

Zagreb Airport is expected to handle 3.2 million passengers by 2010.

Ljubljana's plan call for expanding current terminal and construction of 6-7 air bridges giving Ljubljana an annual capacity of 3 million passengers.

Predicted capacities of airports in former Yugoslavia by 2010.

Zagreb – 7.2 million
Belgrade – 6 million
Dubrovnik – 4million
Ljubljana – 3.5 million
Split – 2.5 Million
Sarajevo – 2.5 million
Skopje – 2 million
Pula – 1.2 million
Zadar – 1 million
Podgorica – 650 000
Tivat – 650 000
Rijeka – 520 000
Maribor – 500 000
N. Sad – 400 000
Mostar 300 000
Ohrid – 300 000
Nis – 250 000
Osijek – 250 000
Brac – 120 000
Portroz 120 000
