For me, churches in France were always impressive. There everything is monumental, huge. It makes you feel sometimes breathtaking. My favorite favorites are Saint-Etienne-du-Mont, Saint-Michel and Notre-Dame

Cannot wait to see these beauties. Soon we're going to have a car again and we'll be just an hour away by car.

Looking back over the thread, I realise that the beauties from Evreux and Gisors are also easily reachable for me, by train (from Saint-Lazare, Paris). Maybe Vétheuil too, I'm not sure...

Our Lady of Grace, Church built in the early 17th century, Gignac. The façade is Renaissance, Florentine in style. The pillar of support was added in 1776 because of the land subsidence.

I really enjoy Renaissance architecture. Great attention to the stone work and very quaint at the same time. I wish there were more examples of the style left. Chateau d'Anet's chapel is stunnig.
