This project concerns the construction of 4 buildings, a Mall and the renovation of the Goitia House (built in the 1900's).

The 2 high-rises will be only for appartements (39 & 37 floors). The 2 other towers are for offices (20 and 10 floors). Below those 4 buildings we will find a comercial center, it will be connected with the Goitia House that is being completely renovated. This new commercial spot will offer luxury retail and gastronomic restaurants.

At the moment , this is one of the biggest mixed projects in La Paz. This business ventures can confirm that the middle classe in the country is growing. Like 6 yeas ago the scene was completely different, until the first mall opened in La Paz (Mega Center). Since that, the commercial and leisure offer has radically changed in this city and also in Santa Cruz that opened in 5 years two malls and also a lot of new buildings below 150 meters.

After the experience of Megacenter in La Paz, the Multicine Tower opened its doors (the rainbow color building in the first photo - post N°4). This complex offers a mixed program and its situated only 150 meters far from the Torres del Poeta.

I think that the success of this new typology of projects, are convincing many investors in order to build bigger projects in La Paz and in Santa Cruz. These are good news guys, after so many years of a sad economy recession.

The four towers are rising very fast. The view from the lower side makes me wonder how massive and tall they will look when topped out.

I don't know to much about the history of this house, but as its architecture can show, it was supposed to be a little palace for remarquable people of the high society of La Paz. It was built in the early 1900's. The Goitia family was the owner at the beginning. This family was originally from Spain and they established in the andean part of Bolivia. La Paz, Oruro and Potosi.

This Goitia house at the beginning was for the family itself. Then this house has been occupied by many different families and institutions. Changing drastically form a residential use into comercial and administrative.

The original palace used to be known because of its big and reputed high class parties. They used to have a dinning room for 200 people and a little elevator that could send the food from the kitchen to the dinning room.

In the 30's it was the residence of the Ecuadorian ambassador in La Paz.

After the 90's it became offices until know.

I hope this little jewellery will recover its glam of the past with this new projet. At least they will renovate it and it will be transformed into a luxury corner of the new mall.

I wish La Paz would have continued investing in trolley, like in San Francisco. Then it would have a truly remarkable city.

I've came back.

The city's government decided to use a cableway system, what would be the artery of public transport. Near to this towers will be constructed two lines for the system, the white and the light blue lines.
