DUBAI | RP One | 315m | 1033ft | 85 fl | App

RP Global to build Dubai's second tallest tower

RP Global, a subsidiary of the RP Group of Companies, today unveiled two new projects in Dubai, worth over AED5.5 billion ($1.5 billion), including plans for the second tallest tower in the city.
RP Heights (below), its first project in Downtown Dubai, is a multi-storey residential tower within two minutes walking distance from The Dubai Mall. It will feature 268 luxury residences in a mix of studio, 1, 2, and 3-bedroom apartments.
Second project RP One will be an iconic mixed-use development on Sheikh Zayed Road, which will be unveiled in the second half of 2015, and will include plans for the second tallest tower in the city. This AED4 billion development will be situated right behind the Business Bay Metro Station, and will feature a spectacular mixed-use tower, which the company claims "will define the Dubai city skyline."
Ravi Pillai (pictured below), chairman and CEO of RP Group of Companies, said: “We are constructing RP Heights in Downtown Dubai on land owned by RP Global and using our own internal financial resources. This demonstrates our commitment to delivery and to establishing our distinct identity in Dubai’s property development sector.”

First thing first, in you face all who are doubting Dubai's future, second, I am freaking excited to see renders for this one. Oh man SZR will be one hell of a road 10 years from now with all supertalls now rising on it.

I am praying this will be on the plot behind business bay towers and not on it cz I want the twins to rise as well.

It is just ridiculous how many supertalls are expected to rise in the near future in Dubai!! This city is heaven

Totally different developers, so I think it is not this one shown above. The design is still secret too, so...

Yes I thought about it as well, but the Business bay Towers plot is just like meant for a twin tower complex. Why should they build one tower on of of the plot and let the other twin plot stay empty?
And I believe, that the developer of the BB twins still owns the plot.

--------------------------------------------

If someone is interested: I added the expected location of the plot in the first post

You know what really grinds my gears? That just a large minority of all Dubai Towers are shown as a 3D model! And some of them are even bad!

This is the bay currently:

i think google depends on the companies submitting good models, or for users to do the same. one would think this would be part of the general advertising/pr package, but ad people are pretty slow to catch on to things.

I hope this isn't another case of a Dubai project that we hear announced and then we don't hear about it again for months, rinse and repeat...

Or the empty plot to the left of this one! 2 min walking distance is exaggerated I would say.

Anyhow imagine how will it look like this one alongside the twins and aade's supertall in a close distance to each other! we will have a second tallest blocks district

Oh and please no google earth 3D buildings posts! it is a blasphemy what they did in comparison to reality

lol blasphemy, thats rich.

if you want it to be better, submit some renderings, or convince the companies that own the towers to do so.

Last year Google stopped accepting new models for the 3d buildings layer, prefering to use aerial scans to procedurally generate models. Of course, that means the models are rarely updated.
