Yes Century City has a different planning from La Defense. On CC it does not have the promenade La Defense has but it has an open air mall.

The layout of the two is quite different. La Defense's middle car-free boulevard is more a park than a mall. Are you speaking of an open-air mall like a strip mall that is so common in the US and Canada?

Other difference between CC and la Defense
80% of la Defense's workers take the public transportations.

But la defense it is aslo a motorway interchange, a big complex of several underground parkings (One of largest in the world) two subway stations and RER, suburban trains, tramway and bus station under the promenade.

frankfurt is definetly NO 1. the only city in europe which have a real downtown skyline. la defense is also nice. i think other city as london dont have a real skyline...
