They are creating direct connections between various terminals (most important : between 2E and 2F).
I don't know if it covers all the transfers, but it will sure improve dramatically the situation!

What about Terminal 2G? Are there any plans to connect 2G with the rest of terminal 2, or at least add a secure shuttle bus connection so passengers won't have to go through security again just to change terminals?

Why no connections between Terminals in CDG? Doesn't make sense to me.

Connections are dependent on partners. So, if you're connecting between Air France and their partners non-Schengen flights, then connections are within 2E. If connecting to/from SkyTeam Schengen flights, 2E and 2F are connected. Likewise for Star Alliance in T1 although the connecting opportunities are understandably not that great since it's a SkyTeam hub.

Air France unveils its new Business class seat: a cocoon in the sky

Tuesday 4 February 2014

- A unique design for more comfort and freedom
- A fully flat seat bed for perfect sleep
- Direct aisle access for each passenger
- A 16-inch (41 cm) high definition touch screen with over 1,000 hours of entertainment

Air France unveils its new Business class seat: a cocoon in the sky

Air France is continuing its move upmarket and is today unveiling its new Business class seat, for a completely renewed travel experience.

In total, 2,102 seats will be installed between June 2014 and summer 2016 on 44 Boeing 777,the core of Air France’s long-haul fleet.

Every detail has been specially modelled to give the seat its unique design. The passenger is instantly enveloped in its graceful curves into a cocoon-like state of special care.

This real cocoon, with its particularly refined finishing touches (leather upholstery, topstitching) provides an ideal level of comfort and offers the prospect of a perfect sleep.

The new Air France Business class seat was developed around the concept of 3 "F":
• Full flat - the seat converts to a fully flat bed - for crossing time zones without fatigue;
• Full access - direct access to the aisle, regardless of the seat’s location in the cabin;
• Full privacy - a protected area through the seat’s enveloping curves, providing a true bubble of privacy in the sky.

Specially designed for Air France, this seat was developed in collaboration with Zodiac Aerospace, a world leader in the manufacture of aircraft seats. Its unique design was specially created by designer Mark Collins of Design Investment, specialized in the world of high-end transportation and by the design and branding agency, Brandimage.

Seeking to offer the ultimate in comfort in the sky, Air France engaged customers, company employees, designers and ergonomic experts in the seat’s cooperative design effort.

A 16-inch (41 cm) high definition touch screen with more than 1,000 hours of entertainment

In the Business cabin, customers have a wide touch screen offering a high definition image. This 16-inch (41 cm) screen offers a unique onboard navigation experience similar to a tablet. With a completely redesigned user interface and available in 12 languages (French, English,Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, German, Italian, Dutch, Russian and Arabic), choosing an entertainment program from over 1,000 hours of entertainment has never been so easy and intuitive.

At a glance

• A seat that converts into a completely flat bed for maximum comfort;
• Direct aisle access for every passenger;
• An enveloping structure of curves, providing a feeling of privacy;
• A seat that features all of the latest technology: a wide high definition touch screen, a touchscreen handset, electrical outlet, USB port and new noise-reduction headphones;
• A padded headboard, an Air France signature feature;
• An adjustable soft leather headrest;
• Space and multiple storage areas close at hand;
• A delicate-to-the-touch duvet, a XXL feather down pillow;
• High quality, down to the finishing: leather, choice fabrics, stitching

Best & Beyond, Air France’s long-haul ambition

Within the framework of its Transform 2015 plan, Air France is continuing to develop the move upmar-ket of its entire range of products and services called “Best & Beyond”. With an investmentof over 500 million euros, this project aims to place Air France at the best possible levelin terms of products and to make a difference with a caring attitude towards its customers

KLM Cargo's 747 visiting BOG

There are big rumors about KLM returning to BOG this year. AMS would become the third new european destination from BOG this year (after LIS and LHR) and seventh overall .

KLM Cityhopper will introduce a new livery with a brandnew E190 that will join the fleet tomorrow. This new livery will be applied to the whole KLM Cityhopper fleet and next year also on the 787-9s that will be delivered to KLM.

Oh thank God they altered it a little bit and the rumors of a completely new livery wont come true. It seems like they took a page out of United's book and put the line as a wave instead of it being straight.

I think it's an improvement and I'm also happy they didn't choose a whole different livery.

Some concept art of different liveries was placed in the dutch airline thread.
In my opinion all a lot worse to the one they choose to use on the E190

Air France’s new first class

Air France’s new La Première, a designer suite

Wednesday 7 May 2014

Today, at an exceptional event in Shanghai, Air France is unveiling its new La Première suite. The next stage of its vast project to move upmarket with its long-haul 'Best and Beyond' product, the La Première suite will progressively equip 19 Air France Boeing 777-300 as from September 2014.

More than just a seat, a private suite

The new La Première cabin, a veritable jewel, now has four exclusive individual suites on board Air France’s long-haul Boeing 777-300. On board, each suite ensures optimum privacy and enables customers to be totally or partially alone, in absolute comfort.

Well-being, relaxation and serenity go hand in hand, for an exceptional trip. Once on board, the La Première guest will immediately feel at home. The large seat adapts to any morphology and promotes rest and relaxation. Each guest has a personal 24-inch (61 cm) HD touch screen, one of the largest ever seen on board.

A bed worthy of the greatest hotels

Like spending a night in a palace, sleeping in one of our La Première suites is a completely exclusive experience. In an instant, the seat turns into a fully-flat bed over two metres long. The armrests are fully retractable and offer a vast space 77 cm wide.

When the passenger is ready to go to sleep, the crew members install a mattress on the seat, for impeccable comfort. They are then given a fluffy pillow and a Sofitel My Bed® duvet. The pillow is placed in a soft cotton pillowcase for ultimate softness, guaranteeing a perfect night’s sleep.

An open or totally private suite, the luxury of deciding yourself

Air France dresses each suite with thick curtains, held back with leather tiebacks. A unique and daring concept, they enable the passenger to decide whether to be totally isolated or just partially. Once the curtains are closed, the passenger has the feeling of being alone at home, totally enclosed in their private cabin. The La Première suite then becomes a vast, totally private space, with 3 square metres available for each guest.

The suite can also be enjoyed with a fellow passenger. Opposite the seat, a comfortable seat, an ottoman, enables the passenger to invite a guest for dinner or simply for a conversation. The suite in turn then becomes a drawing room, a restaurant, or a work area. Anything goes in this space which changes according to the passenger’s desires.

A designer spirit

Air France embodies French elegance, expressed by its choice of textures and materials, continually guided by an obsession for absolute comfort.

The “leather-effect” cabin walls provide a cosy atmosphere. The high-quality leather can also be found on the headrests and armrests. A thick, soft woven tweed fabric covers the seat, providing a touch of elegance to the ensemble. The various storage compartments are padded with suede. With its stitching, touches of wood and metal, la suite represents the utmost in sophistication, down to the slightest details.

"Our new La Première suite, from among all our new products and services, is the one that best represents our commitment to service excellence and a French travel experience. It illustrates our intention to recover and our global ambition." declared Frédéric Gagey, Chairman and CEO of Air France.

What's with the curvy line? Just having straight regular lines makes it look better.

Air France resumes Paris-Jakarta flights

In a move to expand its network in Southeast Asia, French flag carrier Air France officially resumed its daily flights from Paris to Jakarta via Singapore on Thursday.

Air France KLM senior vice president for Asia Pacific, Patrick Roux, said that Indonesia’s strong economic and tourism development had encouraged the airline to reopen the route after it was closed a decade ago following a merger with Dutch airline KLM.

“We want to support this country’s booming economy. That’s why we decided, on top of the daily KLM flights [to Jakarta], to add a daily Air France flight,” Roux said in a media briefing on Friday.

Roux said that the new destination was an addition to the KLM service, which serves the Jakarta-Amsterdam route daily. It is also a continuation of the airline’s service connecting Paris and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which was launched in April 2013.

“With this Air France flight from Paris to Singapore to Jakarta, passengers can combine the way they want. They can fly from Amsterdam to Singapore [with KLM] and then connect the flight to Jakarta, or fly with Air France from Paris to Singapore and then connect to the KLM flight to Denpasar,” Roux said.

“So now, Southeast Asia for us is a connecting platform, a kind of hub in the region that is important for us,” he continued.

Consisting of 303 seats, the 777-300 aircraft that departs from Paris Charles de Gaulle airport has eight La Première (first class) cabins, 67 business seats, 28 premium economy seats and 200 economy seats.

With the newly opened route from Paris to both Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta, Roux said that the airline had increased the airline’s capacity by 2.6 percent in Asia.

According to Roux, Asia-Pacific roughly contributes 25 percent to Air France’s long-haul activity in the Asia Pacific.

“The two main markets [in the Asia Pacific] are Japan and China. But now Southeast Asia is the third one and it’s where the potential for growth is. So the plan of development in the region is in Southeast Asia,” he said.

He added that the Paris-Jakarta route would mainly cater to business passengers, as well as leisure passengers.

“In destinations where we only have leisure traffic, usually it’s not suitable enough and we need to close it after a few years. So, we have to start on a strong base of business and then also high share in tourism,” Roux said.

Air France initially planned to revive the route in March this year, but the overcrowded Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang forced the company to reschedule.

“The crowded airport is basically a sign that the demand is here. It’s the reason why we initially wanted to open this flight once again. It’s better to operate in a busy airport than in an empty airport,” Roux said.

To help expand its presence in the region, Air France inked a code share agreement with state-owned carrier Garuda Indonesia on Friday.

Through the agreement, Air France will be able to connect to Surabaya, East Java and Denpasar, while Garuda will be able to extend the connection to Paris and Nanthes, France, from Amsterdam.
