This building will look impressive when you look at it. Great addition to Mainhatten.

Is it me, or is Bjarke Ingels and his "BIG" firm really terrible at designing skyscrapers? I mean, they could potentially produce some of the world's worst skyscraper designs.

to be fair, the requirements of tishman speyer have been tough. they wanted an apartment segment in the middle of the tower, including balconys. its not easy to make a good proposal with an extending waistline.

Here are future models, not only including the Metzler Tower (Tessuto), but also that planned skyscraper next to it, which according to SSC-user "HD" may get realized within few years:

In this model, the same two towers are shown (in brown, yet with a different design). However, you can also see further planned skyscrapers lining the east rim of the Taunusanlage.

That will be so dense. Just a matter of time before they replace those smaller towers inside the cluster. IMO, Garden Tower will fall soon.

Yupp, that slot would be great for a new number-one-rise for the city. Much better than the location of the likely never to be realized Milennium tower, which also had a disastrously boring design.

I┤d go for +300 meters there if it was up to me, but not taller at present. Cities building Fallos with heights fully out of proportion compared with the organic skyline only show bad self-esteem.

How come the Metzler Hochhaus only has the ~120 residential units in the middle of it, with the offices both above and below the residential floors? I was also thinking about how residential usage was included in the tower at all. I think i should have been more logical to have offices in the lower floors and residential in the upper floors, even though that would mean the office component would be smaller.

That is very dense and looks incredible cool. N mainser strasse will turn in to a canyon EHL in your second picture you talk about a proposed towards the eastern part of taunusanlage, what is that? Having this wall of buildings seen from the park is also a very cool.

I was just about to say that. With the recent compleated, U/Cs and approved projects we got a real and dense alley here.

this tower is another step to make the central part of the skyline denser. Taunusturm also was a big step to this direction

Hopefully Marieninsel will be build in the near future.

A 300m+ tower in this area would be awesome . Or at least a new tallest for Frankfurt in the 280m range.

The east side of the Taunusanlage could get lined by several new towers, but I haven┤t heard of any concrete plans. With the Marieninsel and the SwissCredit towers hopefully soon rising on the west side, the overall development of the area has a satisfactory paste.

Below is an old highrise proposal for the east side of the park (red circle). I think it┤s unfortunately as good as "dead". You see it┤s old since the Taunusturm lacks. Even the building mass in the green circle may give way to new highrise developments in the future, however.

I believe the following model reflects a more recent idea of regulation.

The residential part is the divider between two types of offices (I guess one part is reserved for an anchor tenant, the other part will be divided into small units for several clients). This division was a requirement of the developer.
