Currently, where is PAL flying their A340's and 747's....I know LAX,SFO, and possibly Vancouver, BC gets them....I remember reading that PAL used their 4 holers also on a route to the Middle East (Dubai or Jeddah) if I remember right...Is that service still active? Or is the sole deployment of their 4 holers stricktly to North America?

@ Fastphilly

Philippine Airlines has axed all its Middle-Eastern destinations from its route-system because they cannot compete with the, relatively, cheap yet extraordinary service and amenities of GCC-based carriers like Qatar Airways, Emirates, Etihad Airways, and Gulf Air.

hi! i'm sort of a newbie here...

is there any place at the terminal where non-passengers can meet passengers? i mean i'm supposed to be meeting with a visiting friend but we could not work out our schedules so we just decided to meet up on the day of his departure. he suggested we meet at T3 prior to checking in for his flight back to HKG.

i read from various web articles that T3 supposedly has a greeters' area for non-passengers. is this open already? is there any other area inside where my friend and i could meet for coffee or breakfast perhaps?

Yes, you can go inside the terminal. Sorry, I forget if I saw delifrance at the restricted area. I can't recommend where you can have breakfast together.

PHILIPPINE STAR article today:

The Philippine airport authorities admit in today's paper that they have run out of ideas on how to deal with the bugs of the Terminal3 and have decide to use a FENG SHUI master and a VILLAGE WITCH DOCTOR to deal with the problem.

Jeez.

^ Would be helpful if you post the article you get it from that's not wikipedia but from direct newsgroup links and not from a comic cartoon humour only.

I wonder what they will be doing on the second and last one, it's unfinished. I hope they would put tiles or something around it and the post holding the ramp above as well.

The pics are so much better than it is in person from my point of view. Or maybe I expected too much from NAIA 3. But it was not bad. they should have those stores up and running to make the airport feel more alive. It just felt like a cold building without much life except for the presence of a few anxious people waiting for their flights.

We'll see after december, or atleast by december when MIAA projected it to have all international carrier transfered. It will be up and running somehow. Hopefully...
