"Anyway, I have pictures of NAIA-2 from a trip report I wrote on Airliners.net: http://www.airliners.net/aviation-fo...d.main/202043/. "

Ahh ikaw pala ang author nung trip report na yan. Excellent trip report by the way. I read it more than a week ago and it is quite rare for someone to give a trip report on our national carrier and our airports in Airliners.net. I enjoyed reading your trip report. I look forward to another one.

Please speak English in the international forums. Thanks.

For that matter, technically this proposal does solve the problem of arrivals since the entire green space will become the arrivals area. Not sure if I'd like it that way, but it would be nice if it was enclosed with a canopy roof, for example. That way, it's still usable even during rainy season.

Wow terminal 3 looks very nice. Reminds me of JFK terminal 4. I do notice that our airports have that cold, unwelcoming feel to them

Because of all the steel, cement and not to mention, tiled floors as oppose to Changi, Japanese airports and HKIA which have carpeted floors after the check-in area. NAIA 1, 2 and 3 aren't carpeted, anywhere except for the air bridges and lounges, which is why it looks just like the way you noticed it.

And also, some news.

NAIA Terminal 1 to undergo P1.16-B makeover
January 12, 2012 7:46pm

The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) has set aside P1.16 billion to refurbish the oft-criticized 35-year-old Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1, said MIAA general manager Jose Angel Honrado.

In a statement, Honrado said that the refurbishment will begin Jan. 16, with the escalators connecting the arrival and departure halls being removed to allow more passenger movement.

The make over will take at least 18 months to complete, Honrado noted.

Also included in the improvement project are the demolition and rebuilding of four comfort rooms at the arrival lobby, relocation of Duty Free shops and offices, and structural retrofitting to strengthen the terminal against earthquakes.

Additional Immigration counters will be added at the arrival area so more passengers can be processed during peak hours. Inclined walk-a-lators will also be installed in the arrival area.

Apart from refurbishment, the MIAA will buy new security equipment, including shoe scanners, state-of-the-art scanning and X-ray machines, and additional closed-circuit television cameras.

The equipment, Honrado said, will be funded by money from the Security Development Fee (SDF), which the MIAA started collecting from departing international passengers in February 2007 as part of the terminal fee.

The collection of the SDF ends on Jan. 31, bringing down the terminal fee from P750 to P550.

Honrado said that by the end of the year, the P550 airport terminal fee will no longer be collected by the MIAA. Instead, airline companies will reimburse airport authorities with the fee as part of the airfare. — AL/VS, GMA News

Quick question, why PAL doesnt operate from T3 ? I flew from / into all three terminals last year and have to say that T2 is pack. (domesctic) and T3 is so empty with only Cebu Pacific pax.. The renovation work for T1 is good news.

Terminal 3 is planned to accommodate foreign airlines. The plan is when T3 is fully finished, the foreign airlines using T1 will move there.
