Is the regional rail electric or diesel?

Ukrainian people surprise sometimes to meet tram in underground(maybe, because this system hasn't any analogs in Ukraine), but it is quite usual in the world

This fast tram is quite comfortable, but it has one discomfort: Traditional underground trains are faster. But I wrote, that here can run also traditional underground trains (if platform will be higher), because tubes here have underground standarts. Fast tram system in Ukraine also has Kyiv - the capital (Kyiv has also tram and fast tram, like here), but fast trams in Kyiv run in the ground (not under the ground, like here. Under the ground run only traditional subway train)

There is 1 interesting story. Some people tell that Kryvyi Rih can have heave underground. But when the underground tram system here appeared(in 1986), Dnipropetrovsk (the regional centre of this region) didn't have underground yet (appeared in 1995). And Kryvyi Rih didn't receive heavy subway because Kryvyi Rih wasn't a regional centre (now too, it is only district centre). But this is funny story and maybe, nobody know is it true or not

This is a lot like some places in Belgium. Antwerpen and AFAIK Charleroi have systems with trams in tunnel. Atleast Antwerpen mixes the tunnel running with more conventional tramways. Bussels also have this system on the north-south tunnel but they have heavy subway trains on the ring line and on the east-west tunnel.

A similarity with Antwerpen is that the stations looks really nice and up-to-date and then an old tram from the 60's-70's come running into the station

Gothenburg has one station similar to this, it's called "Hammarkullen".

Only Kyiv have another fast tram service, but it's mostly on surface and it's not metrotram. In USSR times there were plans for such system in Lviv, but it was abandoned

There were also plans (not in ussr) of light underground in Odesa, Zaporizya

Yes, in Europe it isn't strange. There are also many such systems in Germany (Hanover for example). But in Ukraine it can be strange (because only 1 system)

Nope, no plans. Citing economic crisis.

By the way, tomorrow new service to Yuzhniy GOK (or Pivdenyi GZK) will be launched. Map, taken from here:

It's some sort of present for citizens on Ukraine's Independence Day

Update to tram extension - route 4M will be operated only during rush hours, because it terminates around Pivdeniy GZK, Southern mining proceding plant
