Project Name: Alveo Financial Tower
Location: 6794 Ayala Avenue, Makati

Project details: Redevelopment of the Jaka Tower, which was put on hold since the Asian Financial Crisis in 1997, to a 188-meter Premium office tower; Jaka Tower was originally designed by Hellmuth Obata + Kassabaum (HOK) as a 185.9-meter office tower. Recently, Ayala Land acquired the property for redevelopment.

Contrary to initial information, this Ayala Avenue office project will actually be developed into a Premium office building and not into a Grade A structure. Hurray!

What’s the difference between Premium and Grade A? First off, the amenities are markedly different. The finishes and materials used are of a higher quality and the location is normally in a major, normally a landmark, thoroughfare. Which is why when we first heard that the development was going to be Grade A something felt amiss. So it is fantastic to know that Ayala decided to go premium for the Alveo Financial Tower.

Nice addition to that area.

I hope they come up with more signature designs though, but it's a very huge improvement over that unfinished eyesore that stood there for years.

Haha, yes I'd rather have any glass tower in exchange for Jaka. I'm really happy that the last remnant of the crisis along Ayala Avenue will finally see a new breath of life.

yup, if it's the final plan for AFT then they'll probably do something about it. Probably extend the slabs of the existing floors? I wish they'd retain HOK's plans but make the glass wall more contemporary.

Yes, it's been put on hold since the Asian Financial Crisis. . The previous owner sold it to another developer recently so it's finally going to be revived.
