I'm not saying it looks just like it. I meant that it has that scared box look that seems to be the latest trend... plus the scabs and band-aids.

It's a good design, maybe more for a bigger and taller skyline, but it's okay.

Design review update:

  • He acknowledges that this height won't make 4/C the tallest building in the West Coast.
  • When asked if this height reduction was due to the FAA, architect said developer [Crescent Heights] had several metrics and objectives that led to the choice of 1,029 feet and 93 F.
  • Fragmentation of facade seems to be the core concern voiced by the Seattle design panel and all parties agreed to addressing this issue later. The existing Stadium Place tower is an analog to the facade for 4/C.
  • 3 comments from the public, all voicing support for 4/C.
  • Did not hear other major concerns or opposition; design panel seemed very happy with the changes to 4/C since the first EDG meeting. Panel also very satisfied with the resolution of issues raised in the first meeting. (Modifications seemed to include: bike amenities, car elevator to save space [internally], having the possibility of converting parking levels to residential if there is low demand for parking, pedestrian amenities for mitigating the steep slope, pedestrian space activation...)
  • Seems like onwards with the review process for getting a MUP (though, this wasn't mentioned explicitly) - more meetings to attend!

Downtown massing model. 4/C, Civic Square, 888 2nd Avenue, The Mark, Madison Centre all shown as complete.

Podium and tower models.

Podium model.

Not a bad idea at all. Needs some refining, but looks pretty good. Hopefully FAA will be accommodating in the approval process.

IMHO it is long overdue to change FAA heights restrictions.

I've been keeping a rough count. There are over 50 completed, under construction, on hold (2 WTC represent!) and proposed.
