BTS | Bratislava Airport Slovakia

Seeing as there is no existing thread (as seen in the Thread Finder/General Directory), I decided to make one.

BTS | Bratislava Airport Slovakia

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bratislava_Airport

Very nice airport

Unfortunately, there aren't many airlines serving this airport. Heck, I just found out that Slovakia does not have a national airline (or a flag carrier).....so the airline that uses the airport the most is some budget airline based in Ireland.

Which is a shame........because looking at the annual passenger numbers, the statistics are pretty much in-line with the numbers coming from Ljubljana Airport in Slovenia and yet the Slovenian airport has more airlines served (though it could also be because Slovenia has a national airline/flag carrier in the form of Adria Airways - a Star Alliance member)

In any case though, I hope that this airport can attract more airlines to come here...........most especially Turkish Airlines (because their network spans all continents so their flight network can attract those coming outside the EU)

Indeed very nice airport no doubt

Nevertheless, it is highly suggested that Turkish Airlines launch flights from Istanbul<->Bratislava

I mean, if Turkish Airways can fly to Ljubljana Airport, then it can do so for Bratislava as well (they have relatively the same passenger numbers per year).

That should be next on the agenda

Some new destinations expected in 2018:
  • Georgian Airways redirected some Tbilisi - Vienna flights to Bratislava. New line will be operated two times per week.
  • New rival gets Ryanair in direction to London - WizzAir opens route to Luton airport, operated each day with A321.
  • Ryanair starts new routes to Thessaloniki, Malta, Burgas and Paphos
  • SmartWings opens new summer seasonal route to Catania

So, BTS will have connection with 45 cities (approx.) in 23 countries. Soon will be published also statistics for 2017.
