경기도가 최근 일본과 중국, 동남아시아에서의 ‘한류( 韓流 ) 열풍’을 지속적으로 발전, 확산시키기 위해 고양시 일산구 장항동에 30만평 규모의 차세대 엔터테인먼트 중심지인 ‘한류우드’를 조성한다.
‘한류우드( 韓流Wood )’는 한국 문화에 대한 유행을 뜻하는 ‘한류’와 미국의 영화 중심지인 ‘할리우드( Hollywood )’의 합성어이다. 손학규 경기도지사는 1일 서울 프레스센터에서 가진 내·외신 기자회견에서 “일산신도시 인근에 2조원의 사업비를 들여 2008년까지 ‘한류우드’를 조성하겠다”며 “이를 통해 한국의 신세대 대중문화와 정보통신( IT )기술을 접목한 새로운 동아시아 문화를 창출하겠다”고 밝혔다. ‘한류우드’는 김포공항과 가까운 거리( 자동차로 20분 )에 위치하고 있는 데다 동양 최대 규모의 한국국제전시장( KINTEX·4월 개장예정 )과 파주 출판문화단지, 헤이리 예술마을, 차이나타운( 2006년 완공 예정 ), 파주 영어마을( 2008년 완공 예정 ) 등과 연계할 수 있는 지리적 조건을 갖추고 있다고 경기도는 밝혔다. ‘한류우드’는 2008년까지 각 기능에 따라 단계적으로 개발된다. 한류 스타거리, 스타빌리지, 게임월드, 각종 연예 공연장, 한류 쇼핑센터 등으로 꾸며지는 한류 체험시설은 2006년까지, 호텔·테마파크 등 관광 숙박시설은 2007년까지, 연예기획사·벤처타워·종합촬영장·예술종합학교 등 문화콘텐츠 개발시설은 2008년까지 조성된다. 경기도는 부지 조성, 진입로 건설 등 인프라 구축에 약 4000억원을 투입하며 각종 시설의 조성과 운영은 민간 자본이 참여하는 컨소시엄 형태로 개발된다. 손 지사는 “‘한류우드’를 중국·일본 대중문화와의 교류 등을 통해 할리우드로 대표되는 서양 문화와 경쟁할 계획”이라며 “춘천·무주·제주 등 국내 한류 명소와도 연계해 문화관광을 통한 지역균형 발전에도 기여하도록 하겠다”고 밝혔다. 한편 경기도는 한류우드에 들어설 각종 시설과 운영 방안에 대한 다양한 의견을 수렴하기 위해 2월 한달 동안 각종 인터넷 포털 사이트를 통해 네티즌의 아이디어를 공모한다. ------------------ Just as I hoped, they're building something like a Hollywood in Ilsan. Hopefully, this will provide a boost to Korea's media entertainment industry and tourism. This could be even better with a Universal Studios. Aside from this new 한류wood, Ilsan is already home to many Korean celebrities, and a lot of dramas were shot here. Universal Studios and Ilsan are a perfect match. And again, screw Disneyland. |
