Qiantan (前滩) should be translated to "New Bund", not front Beach...

Front beach is what google translated for me long time ago
I thought there was some point in having that name, since it is by the river... coast... beach... But thanks to your comment I just realised "The Bund" is Waitan, so yes, New Bund makes more sense. With my basic chinese I expected New Bund to be called Xin(新) Waitan

All you can see in that photo is the outskirts of Shanghai, and it's only a smart part of it

It just makes me so sad for those people who live in such neighborhoods... In two weeks I would be totally sick x) This landscape is so depressive.

These neighbourhoods are much more livable than you would expect, so there is no need to feel sad about it.

These appartments are actually very expensive, even to Western European standards.

I am not talking about the flats, I am talking about these so depressing areas. It may be so good to have a walk there, the fresh air, the beautiful little roads with charming gardens and parks, the lovely houses all uniques... Lol...
