The urban planning for this is quite good, but I will have to wait to judge it until real render are shown rather than just conceptual massing

Agree. The final proof of the pudding is in the eating. If we based it though on BCDA's previous smaller project in Fort Bonifacio, this new city in Clark could also become a success.

Fort Bonifacio (some parts shown below) actually turned out nice and hopefully, with Clark having a bigger area, having more parks, and having better infrastructure, it could possibly turn out nicer.

$40-M Clark solar power plant inaugurated

Posted on Monday Mar 14th at 4:00am
By Ding Cervantes

Quote:
CLARK – The first-ever renewable energy project amounting to $40 million in this freeport was inaugurated here on Friday.

The project will provide power to at least 100,000 households, according to the state-owned Clark Development Corp. (CDC).

Dubbed Clark Solar Power, the plant was constructed on a 25-hectare property and is expected to generate 22.325-megawatts of electricity for the growing number of investors here.

The power plant is a joint venture of MSPI and two Singapore-based renewable energy developers – Sindicatum Renewable Energy Co. and Armstrong Asset Management.

The project supports the development of the Clark Green City, which includes commercial, industrial and residential structures.

The project has been connected to the Clark Electric Development Corp., and will supply most of its power to areas served by CEDC.

The plant was completed on March 7 with the conclusion of the testing required by National Grid Corp. of the Philippines. It will be fully operational within the month.

CLARK, Philippines – Singapore-based Sindicatum Renewable Energy Company (SREC) inaugurated last Friday, March 11, its 22-megawatt solar power plant in this former United States military base, initially producing 4 megawatts.

The US$40 million solar power plant will “provide alternative power supply to the growing power needs of the locators” here, the Clark Development Corp. (CDC), a subsidiary of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority which manages the 4,400-hectare main freeport and the 27,600-hectare special economic sub-zone, said in a statement.

-snipped-

The solar power plant, which is also seen as a support utility for the 9,450-hectare Clark Green City at the sub-zone, was completed last Monday, March 7, and is already interconnected with the Clark Electric Development Corporation and registered with the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) for the eventual supply of excess power to the Luzon grid.

The CDC expects the solar power plant to operate to its full capacity within this month or as soon as it is registered with the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market and secures NGCP’s approval to connect as a power generator.

The state-owned corporation said the SREC will also build a 25-MW solar power plant near the Clark Green City in the future.

Aside from the solar power plant here, the Department of Energy has approved two other solar power projects in Pampanga. These include the 23-MW plant of Raslag Corporation in Mexico town and the 50-MW plant of the Solar Power Utilities Generator Corporation in Porac town.

BCDA says Clark Green City access road done by July 15
June 12, 2016

Quote:
State-run Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) expects the Clark Green City (CGC) access road project to be completed by July 15.

The access road project will provide more accessibility to CGC and allow prospective investors to visit the area.

BCDA President and Chief Executive Officer Arnel Paciano D. Casanova said the access road project is now 60 percent completed and construction is now on “full blast.”

The BCDA president said the ground breaking of various projects within CGC would follow after the completion of the access roads.

“Once the roads are completed, we start breaking ground for the various development projects located at different sites of Clark Green City,” Casanova said.

Some of these projects are the University of the Philippines Clark Green City Campus, the Technological University of the Philippines (TUP) Center for Industrial Development and Productivity (TUP–CINDEP), the Philippine Science High School (PSHS) Central Luzon Campus Extension, and the Fabrication Laboratory.

Other than the existing access road project, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is also set to construct two primary access roads that lead to the Clark Green City.

The two major access roads are the 7-km MacArthur Access, and the 16-km Clark Airport-Bamban-Capas Access Road project.

Based on the news, they'll prioritize the railway link from Clark to Subic first. But a railway link to Manila is definitely needed.

Govt targets 2019 opening for new Clark airport terminal
3 November 2016

MANILA - A new terminal building in Clark Airport, which serves as an alternative to Manila's overcrowded terminal, will be finished by the middle of President Rodrigo Duterte's term, a transportation official said Thursday.

The terminal is among infrastructure projects that the government is rushing to finish before Duterte steps down in 2022, Bases Conversion and Development Authority President Vince Dizon told ANC's "Headstart."

"Our target is to start building this building by middle of next year, so by 2019, half of the President’s term, we’re going to have our first world-class airport in Clark," he said.

-snipped-
Construction of Clark Green City, a 9,400-hectare alternative commercial center, a railway connecting Subic and Clark and a bus rapid transit system connecting NAIA to Bonifacio Global City will also be fast-tracked, he said.
ANC

Edit: I think they're also planning for it:

Alright!

Unlike during Pinoy's time where everything was all just feasibility studies but pushed in the back burner, Duterte is a man of action and has a team that will get these things done as long as he can finish his term.

Yeah, and looks like China will be funding those rail links.

PH infra gets China boost

Quote:
The Philippine government’s ambitious P7 trillion infrastructure plan for the next six years received a huge boost from President Rodrigo Duterte’s state visit to China last week, with the two countries signing major deals on roads, rails, airports, seaports, and telecommunications projects.

Malacañang said the agreements were part of the $24 billion loans and investment pledges the government received from China.

“The country’s business leaders have long called for bold solutions and swift improvement of the country’s infrastructure and transport network,” the Palace said in a statement on Monday. “It is hoped that the President’s state visit to China will be the catalyst to making all these plans a reality.”

These memoranda of understanding include the construction of mega bridge projects connecting Luzon to Visayas; major rail systems, including the proposed Mindanao Railway System and the Manila to Clark and Clark to Subic cargo and passenger railroads, it said.
