One of these days you'll just have to come visit in person. We'd be more than happy to show you around.

I totally dig the Calgary skyline for some reason (after Toronto of course). I think Calgary has a very clean, compact and aesthetically pleasing skyline. And it's not that small either, for a city of 1.1 million.

Do you think the mountains remind you of Austria? Btw, Calgary is likely over 1.4 million today.

Now that you mention it, yes it does. And I like the city's layout and overall cleanness.
1.4M already? Damn, it's growing fast.

Toronto

Love the brownish hue! Makes the skyline warmer and cozier than cold and distant glassy towers!

I imagine that if Vienna were a newish city like Calgary it might look very similar in aerial shots. Can you see the Alps from Vienna?

Calgary's growth has been blistering of late. It will likely take a breather with oil at $29 but it's reached a point that it will likely grow smartly over the long term regardless of the price of oil.

I've been to both Vienna and Calgary and don't see much in common between them. The only similar thing is that both cities have a river running through it. I don't remember there being mountains visible from Vienna.

None of this is against Vienna of course - Vienna is an amazing city, truly spectacular and a place everyone should visit! You get the feeling wandering around Vienna that you are in a city that has a glorified past.

Vancouver by far simply because it has the ocean and the mountains to complement its skyline. Sorry Toronto.
