Perhaps we could add Gatineau?

Metrotown burnaby is more precise, just about 10 minutes drive north there is another cluster called Brentwood.

New Westminster, once the capital of BC, now its a small suburb of metro Vancouver but its a city of its own with a small population of about 71,000.

Yes it was..

"New Westminster is a historically important city in the Lower Mainland region of British Columbia, Canada, and is a member municipality of the Greater Vancouver Regional District. It was founded by Major-General Richard Moody as the capital of the new-born Colony of British Columbia in 1858, and continued in that role until the Mainland and Island Colonies were merged in 1866, and was the Mainland's largest city from that year until it was passed in population by Vancouver during the first decade of the 20th Century."

A little off topic but is British Columbia the name taken after it broke away from the Oregon Territory or did it have another name?

I'm not sure, was BC once called "New Caledonia" before 1858?

It seems that areas of the Oregon Territory went by 'Columbia', 'New Caledonia', 'New Hanover', 'New Cornwall', and 'New Georgia'. New Caledonia was favoured but the French already had a place called that. Columbia made sense because the whole region was also referred to as the 'Columbia Territory'. Queen Victoria chose British Columbia to distinguish it from the US part of the Columbia Territory.
