Toronto's Victorian penchant for red brick served the city well. We'd be wise to inject rich colour and texture like that back into our modern buildings... and not just in Toronto. In closing, Canadian cities are far too gritty to be considered soul less. If everything looked like a Concord Developments mega project he'd have a point, but few areas look like that.

Richmond, almost the same size as Saskatoon is another suburb of Vancouver.

I don't think there is a hard and fast answer to that one. Beauty is entirely in the eye of the beholder. What is dynamic and exciting to one person might not be to another. No one loves every city's skyline; it is just a personal preference!
So, is it "accurate" if everything someone says is negative? Well, it is obviously accurate to them, but not to everyone. Personally I like a changing skyline. I look at Toronto's skyline
and see dynamism, and a nice variety of architecture. Others look and can only see glass boxes that all look the same to them. I look at a lot of skylines, and I don't fall in love with all of them; some of them I find really boring even though it may be a city I like. That's life! So, our opinions are accurate to ourselves and beyond that I don't think any of us should worry too much if someone likes or doesn't like our skyline. I'd say the only real opinion that is important to an individual is what they think of their own city that they have chosen to live in!

Every city in the world that has been booming in this past decade has glass towers. The more a city booms, the more glass towers it has. Toronto has been mega-booming during a decade of unprecedented
population growth and new city building, so obviously it has a lot more glass towers than another city that say, hasn't had a new tower go up in the past decade; and, yes, there are cities whose skyline has basically remained unchanged for the past ten years and therefore don't have a lot of "glass towers". Architectural trends vary during different generations; a city that boomed during the 70's and 80's quite like has loads of concrete buildings because that was the trend during that period. Some like that, and others, like myself, find it ugly. Each to their own. The trend of glass towers is what it is, and it is an international one, not just a local Canadian trend.

Unlike most of the other suburbs in the metro Vancouver region, West Vancouver is not a city but a district municipality with a population of around 50,000.
