It was the inaugural match at Old Wembley which is now turned into New Wembley. Official attendance was what you said above but estimates of the number of fans in attendance range from 240,000 to well over 300,000 according to wikepedia. Regarding how far the crowd exceeded its official capacity, read the below article from wikipedia.

At one point West Ham defender Jack Tressdern became entangled in the crowd after taking a throw-in and was unable to return to the pitch in time to prevent Bolton's David Jack shooting for goal. Jack's shot hit a spectator who was standing pressed against the goal net, and knocked him unconscious. Bolton eventually won the match 2-0 to claim the Cup.

I think this, practically, has the world's record for stadium crowd.

Sercen, you might wanna add that recent 120 k attendance match between Bayern Munich and Mohan Bagun at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata, India to your list. That attendence figure has been verified at Munich's own website. Should be good enough, no?

It was also a farewell match for Oliver Kahn. Below is the picture taken during the match. They say that the stadium was packed with 120,000 spectators then but there are many empty seats.

Actually they just used the capacity number you can find at stadiums sited
I still think that the stadium in India do not hold 120k

And looking at Carrerra pic i would guess the attendance was 40-50k

Unfortunately, the type of construction is sometimes the reason why we can't have official numbers.
Example for Germany: Some sources, like the Tageszeitung, say, that the match between
east-german champion SC Wismut Karl-Marx-Stadt and west german champion 1. FC Kaiserslautern caused a fullfilled stadium. The stadium had 100000 seats back then, with additional stands for this game even 110000, and all were filled. The problem is, that even more uncountable people were in the stadium on day, standing around on top of the stands and on the stairs.
Fritz Walter scored the so called "Jahrhunderttor" (Goal of the century) in that game.

http://www.wo-was-wie-hilft.de/html/..._walter_0.html

I'd say you can add this one, at least 100.000 spectators were there for sure, 120.000 seems to be the official estimated number

My brother was at the game in Calcutta and he was really surprised when I showed him the picture above. He said there were at least 100'000 in the stadium. It didn't look empty at all, but wasn't a complete sellout either.
The seats you can see in the picture are the only seats of the whole stadium. 90%+ of the stadium are terraces (nearly all people were sitting during the game though). So I think 120k is possible.
Ticket price was about half a dollar

Bit of a mismatch to compare the two old stadia, I have attended both and have always thought that Wembley was much bigger. Hampden was nearly all terraces with just 14,000 seats in total. The old Wembley had approx 50,000 seats, and seeing that you got more than 3 times the capacity for terracing compared to seats then I would say that Wembley was a much bigger stadium physically. This is proven by the fact that the all seated Wembley had a capacity of 80,000 whereas Hampden, even after expansion on one side has a very low capacity of just 50,000. If Wembley had just one side of seats it would've comfortably accommodated Hampden's record crowd, and still had twice as many seats.

Out of interest, do you know the record "average attendance" (over a whole season) for Celtic and Rangers?

There was a bigger crowd for Linfield (my team and owners of Windsor Park) vs Belfast Celtic in the 1930s. 68,000 at least.
