Shreveport - USA

I'll tell you guys, I heard of this city (vaguely), but I never thought it would have the kind of skyline it did. For some reason,
I haven't heard this city mentioned too often on these forums.

-----------------------------------------------

Shreveport

Shreveport, Louisiana is the third largest metropolitan city in the state of Louisiana, USA. It is located in Caddo Parish, and
as of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 200,145. Bossier City lies across the Red River in Bossier Parish and
the Shreveport-Bossier City Metropolitan Area population exceeds 390,000. Shreveport is the commercial and cultural center
of the Ark-La-Tex, the area where Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas meet. Some call it the "Gateway to East Texas", others
claim that Shreveport sits on the border between the South and the West. Shreveport exercises a great pull over this region.
A good example of this is that people in East Texas watch and donate money to the Louisiana Public Broadcasting Service
because there is not a PBS station in northeast Texas.

Apparently the buildings to the right in some of those are casinos.

I am extremely surprised that it has the kind of skyline it has for a city I haven't heard of too often! 8.5/10, I love at night with those casinos lit up!

Yes, it is going to get denser once the convention center and hotel are completed. Also, your pictures are missing the Horseshoe Casino, on the right side of the bridge. Ill try and post it.

When your coming in from I-20 going west, the skyline is really dominating.

7/10 Not too bad for a city its size. Most of the buildings look new. Which ones are casinos?

For it's population it's not bad at all, and the buildings aren't particularly poor quality. Could do with some taller buildings to improve the cluster and enhance it, and increased density.
7/10

Not bad! I thought it would be a redneck trailer park town with a dinky skyline. I was wrong! 6.5/10

Nice little city. Even got its own signature tower. Looks kind of like the WFC in New York (vaguely). Not surprised, though. I knew Shreveport was a big city. 7/10 from me.

Only wish damn Augusta could be like that.

Shreveport - USA

This is Shreveport-Bossier LA. I think its the 3rd largest city in LA, but its skyline is alot better than that of Baton Rougge. This is the place, where if you see the allergy map on the weather channel, the allergy level is really high. I dont know if its called "THe Allergy City" or not, that's just an observation I made.

this s one of those cities where if you took a building out, the skyline would probly suck...this being the building I am tlaking about.

I'm pretty impressed considering Shreveport isn't all that big a city really. With regard to the city's size, I give it 9/10

My Vote: 7.0

Shreveport seems to be one of those unlikely cities you say...
"I didn't know THEY had a skyline that looks like THAT!"

Their AmSouth Bank looks simular to First Indiana Bank in Indianapolis:

AmSouthBank (Shreveport)

First Indiana Bank (Indianapolis)
