Sister City Telescopes

This is a concept of a public space (train station) installation that meant to be built in three different cities around the world; Jakarta, Berlin, and Los Angeles. The title is "Sister City Telescopes".

I sadly remember the 2008 Telectroscope linking London and New York.

'Tunnel' links New York to London -BBC

The Telectroscope, London's window on New York - The Telegraph

The amazing telescope lets you see New York from Londons Tower-Bridge - Daily Mail

Giant 'telescope' links London, New York -CNN

Darn! They had made it before.

Thank you very much for informing me, I'll mention their Telectroscope in my post.

I remember having to check the paper to make sure it wasn't the 1st April at the time - LOL

According to the BBC, someone on the New York side wrote Man U Suck, which the people on our side thought referred to the Football Club Manchester United, and which many people probably agreed with.

However it turned out he meant Man You Suck - which demonstrates the intellect of many of the people who bothered to use the thing.

Ah you've "tried" the thing by yourself it seems. What was it like?

Did it incite any interesting interaction?

In my design, it would be three cities with very different cultures that being connected, though.

I didn't try it.

It was just a lot of people waving to each other and holding up signs. A bit like somekind of medieval internet, complete with Trolls holding up abusive signs.

Interesting concept but I think I prefer the internet and a nice pint.
