Seriously guys!! Of course it won't be only for VIPs and royals, most probably you pay more to access it. If they want it to be only for royals they wouldn't publicize it everywhere as an attraction of this tower. My only question is where the hotel floors will be, scion's representation is very accurate but I doubt the render is, plus I'm almost very sure last observation deck will be on 1000m, the damper was to be on 970 but Nemiq told us the last floor is on 1014m

I think the hotel will be on the lowest floors of the tower which are labeled as ''refuge stack'' in Scion's representation.

From ground floor up to floor "15" at 700m are marked as non-real floors. Then a couple of refuge floors before reaching the first observation floors at ~760m. Transfer from first elevator group to another bank of elevators at ~800m, from there upwards everything is marked as VIP Observation floors etc.

A mass damper at ~970m..
Hi Nemiq,

Can you please post a photo or scan the diagram or blueprint that you're referring to? Thanks

I drove by the location yesterday night and the site was lit and bright! Reminded me of downtown when they started building it ... so many towers U/C around this tower already

I wonder what type of tall buildings will be build around it. If nothing above 500m will be build around it you will not enjoy a view from higher above the ground than ~700m.
Same as the Sky Tree in Tokyo. If you visit the normal observation deck at ~350m you see a 3D city. But if you go to the highest deck at 450m~ than Tokyo is kinda flat.

In that example the Observation deck at 760m is ok but 1000m will be boring.

lets just say the taller THE TOWER is the taller the surrounding high rises will be. I mean next to this giant you can build 700m towers and they will still look tiny the marina has a tallest block of supertalls there, I'm smelling a new tallest block of megatalls coming up in Dubai creek harbour

Would it be possible for any of you in the UAE to take panoramic bird's eye view photos of the Creek Harbour now? These will become priceless when 10 years from now we compare the view from the same vantage point.

if only I own a drone... Anw today I was in Dubai mall where emaar posted a huge poster for THE TOWER and you can hear tourists and residents pointing at it saying things like this is the new tallest tower ever they are building it and such small chatter, it's already generating a lot of attention. Emaar and Dubai def know how to market their vision

Omg 1200 meters? Next thing you know we'll actually have a mile-high tower.
Can't wait for this to start rising.

Empire State Building stood above others for almost 51 years: 40 before WTC towers were topped out in 1970, and 11 after they were attacked.

Considering his reputation for collapsing roofs, stages, and other major design flaws, I'm getting worried about The Tower.

Skyscrapers are different than the cases of this article ... Plus all architects had issues with failed designs

Yep definitely that's happening more often than not, i'm not a big fan of his architecture, but most of his designs flaws come from them being centered way too much on aesthethics rather than practical use, but many cities around the world are willing to get him to design something for them,so i guess it's kinda worth it.
But talking about highrise designs, i feel the need to remind that he was the designer of turning torso, which was pretty groundbreaking and innovative back in its day, kinda like this building/tower is today.
