Well, not to say architects don't have right to produce renderings close to what reality is, but there's always that aspect of selling the design and marketing. Whether in architecture or not, you can look at the above image and say "Wow, what a view!" or something like that. Now if you had to illustrate a traditional segmented glass panel with gaskets / rubber / connectors on the wall to do a smaller (but still almost seamless) window, it just wouldn't appear as grand and as awesome.

It's hopeful that one day we can achieve the ideal shown on TV / renders etc. of products but of course that's what reality is for and having slightly tempered expectations.

Either way I do agree though, if there is a hotel toward 800m, I'd love to stay in it too! Judging how much the Armani suites are in the BK though, I could only fathom at what they'll charge for the Tower experience per night. Since it's so limited on rooms and a bit of a selective aspect, I'd imagine no less than $1K/night USD. But BAA charges higher for a luxury experience so who knows!

You do realize that Plexiglas is around 80 cm thick right?

Your taking the render of the view a little to much to heart. It's just an inspirational render, first of all if you look better it's way to low, from what we know the actual view will be above the BK.

DUBAI | The Tower | 1014m+ | 3327ft+ | 55 fl | U/C

That aquarium's plexiglass (and most of that kind) are made in pieces and 'welded' together. I saw it in a documentary

There is no ugly edge, indeed. Because there's no edge at all. This is definitely not the most beautiful floor, and it's ending with an ugly cut, going randomly through the pattern, and cutting the pattern details haphazardly.

Also, putting some 58-years old famous furniture is like placing a badge saying: Here be some "design" done by others, so that you could call this a "designed place" (if you can't care less about it). Gosh, this image is just so vulgar! And the most common furniture in the world by Arne is like a label "we went for some furniture shopping, and we'll just leave it here for a while, because we've got no better idea". Having so many tools for furniture design, and so many furniture factories in Dubai that provide an Italian quality of finishes, this mid-century worshiping looks extremely platitudinous.

The foundation must be enormous.
It will take more than a year before this one goes vertical...
