I don't like it. This is one of the ugliest towers i have ever seen in my life.
I don't wanna live next to it, horrible imagination to see this thing every day.

I'm no engineer but i think it could be build. Otherwise they would'nt come up with such detailed models. But you're right, Dubai deserves a better tower than this strange thing.

As many mentioned before me this is not the final design so I don't see a point in judging this now

This thing is really gonna be more than 1.2KM!
Look at the left render! its the top part of the building and its way higher than burj khalifa in the background!

Ok guys is there any way to find out the rough height of this one using the magic of Math?
I am not really good at it but I think there is formulas that can be used to figure things out and guess its height!

Check the following pic .. Burj Khalifa's height is known as well as the ground distance between Burj Khalifa and Iconic tower which is according to google earth around 8200m ... in this pic although there is a huge distance between the 2 towers they appear almost at the same height from this focal point so can someone using all these information figure out a way to roughly calculate the height of it?

More info: I was able to get roughly the point from where the pic was taken by comparing shapes in the sea and towers location:

Now Here are more data of the distance from the point the pic was taken to both towers:

From point of capture to BK: 3780m

From point of capture to Iconic: 11900m

Now here are 2 pics that summarize all data we got:

Now is it possible to roughly guess the height of this tower? or maybe the margins in which this tower might have its height within?

That render might npt be very accurate though. They might display the tower as if it was closer to make it more impressive. I mean three times as far away and still nearly as tall as BK in that render is just nuts.

Accurate or not I won't mind seeing a nutty result Anyways its just for fun so I still would like to know what height does that give the tower!

No, but if you look at the minute 3.59 you will see one proposal were the twin tower were planned:

When is construction scheduled to start?

I read in an online Gulf Gazette that it's gonna be in 3 months...how far is that true?

We do know however that this development was planned in secret for quite a while already. So movement on the site wouldn't be too crazy to think about. Hope it's true anyway

I don't think this will be the final design. Why did they make it so thin?

Well, I calculated it and it's indeed a nutty result. Since I'm not a machine and there can be mistakes, here's my way of calculating it:

It has to be at least 2607m tall, to look as tall as the Burj Khalifa. Since it's shown taller, the overall height has to be higher than 2607m too, which is ridiculous.

Wow that's great thank you I mean calculation ... I wouldn't be able to do what you did in a million years now concerning height maybe this tower is a redesign of the vision proposal "Dubai Vertical City"

I have the rights to dream leave me alone
