I think the biggest difference is just that for now (let's call it the habitable part) of the bulb is far slimmer than the original models. Not that I think it couldn't have been done before, but I'm sure moving the structure that far off the core and widening it out that much may have created undesirable stresses? The tower seems to taper far more gracefully now than flaring out and back into the tip.

that's illusion, when the bulb was stretched out it gave it a slimmer appearance. the bulb if anything was stretched upward because now the spire on top of it looks shorter. Let me just make one thing I'm very sure of very clear, Emaar will do whatever it can to INCREASE the usable space in this tower and it will go after the tallest possible height for this tower. I strongly believe because of many info I'm getting that this tower will easily be higher than 1300m, I might dare to say the final height may be around ~1400m (for now).

Watching this beautiful monster sprout will be a very interesting thing to witness.

I wouldn't jump the fence just yet. The taller the better, but I still expect something of between 1100m and 1200m

@ Gab, ahh, sure, no doubt. Of course easy to be mistaken when from here all I can see are photos compared to being there, seeing the shows / models physically and all that. Makes complete sense that of course Emaar would want to maximize the rentable space as well as the height since tower space is at a premium.

Meanwhile I'm still bogging over how far they'll even take the concrete part of the structure. Sure the material can support a tower far beyond what we can build today, but what about the logistics of pumping it there? Still thinking they could manage concrete to 800m, then steel the rest of the way.

Check how stretched out vertically it is compared to the previous renders May I dare say it is almost 50% usable floors of it now ... :P

Nice towers, all of them, but what the heck is going on in the bottom right of the picture, on that rooftop? Parked cars? Sleeping people? They seem way too haphazardly placed to be AC units, and it seems unlikely that a building would utilize that many small units instead of a few big ones. Considering the scale, a rooftop parking lot appears to be the most likely answer, but it could really be anything at this distance...

It's not supposed to be, I think it's an issue with the perspective in the render.

Love it how every road and "mall path" leads to the tower as the central point of the whole district.

If I talked about what I "love" about the models, I'd make a list half a page long. It's beyond spectacular. If Emaar can build it all like that, it will be one of the number one tourist destinations on the entire planet. It's jaw-dropping in a hundred ways.

Finally, FINALLY a pedestrian friendly layout!
Notice how the whole car infrastructure, i.e. the streets, are placed underground while the pedestrian infrastructure enjoys full sunlight and uninterrupted walkways with full access to a 360 degree wide range of destinations! It has the same imapct for the district like theoretically relocating Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard in Downtown underground and make a pedestrian zone above! Perfect
Dubai might have learned from its mistakes in the past!

Btw, thank you so much Gabriel900 for visiting the sales centre! Your pictures are awesome

Yeah I thought about that and it's possible the mist from the many fountains would make the central plaza tolerable even in summer.

The round plaza looks very soviet like.

I donīt wanna be a partypooper or so, but i wonder where they wanna find that many investors to fully develop this, when things like PJA, Palm Deira and such failed badly. After all the fails with flamable cladding, the way investors have almost no rights in the UAE etc. I think itīs just a very logical question to ask.
