It's a masterpiece! I just cant wait for this to be built.

I love the space under the tower. Wth the fountains and shade from the cables it shouldn't be so hot.

if i use the knowledge of the 250m radius on that last model picture I only get a height of around 900m. but with the perspective doing that probably makes no sense anyways.

The design of the entire parade has changed. 250m is probably not relevant anymore.

The tower ist very unique and beautiful...

but i wonder, especially with those extrem weatherconditions and location near the sea, how long it may take before first maintainace works will be nessecary.

Because i fear that from that day on you will never see it without scaffolding again. With the sheer amount of cables, they will start at one point and then run around and around and will never be finished.

Will those cables bear any significant force apart from dead load (like pulling tension) or will they be there "just" for aesthatic purpose? Look good though.

I've never been to the UAE but one day I will go.

I find it fascinating how the conversations must go before commissioning something like this.

"Right, see that patch of desert over there, what do you want to build?"

I think it will be as white as any other Calatrava building. Such a beautiful colour indeed

Is it just me or did the tower go from ''nah'' in the first render to ''I can live with it'', ''quite good'', ''great'' and finally ''a true masterpiece''? Sorry for the double post

The cables are necessary for the total construction.
Such slender tower can never stand on itself, that's for sure.

The render can't be too old though, since you can see the newly launched Dubai Gate Towers in the lower part of the picture Anyway, my statement was rather referring to the overall impression of the tower, not to this particular render

you are right, that's odd. I hope they are just playing with us and in the end we get more floors AND the larger spire to blow any records out of the water and leave no doubt about this Tower
