@Patel I wouldn't be 'excited' about the A380 if I were you

Austrian media today is reporting that Austrian (OS) is concerned about keeping its premium status within the Lufthansa group. Apparently there are fears that Austrian could be integrated into the Eurowings group, following the model of Brussels Airlines.

Air Berlin outlines proposed Eurowings fleet placement

Air Berlin (AB, Berlin Tegel) has outlined the proposed positioning of the thirty-three A319-100 and A320-200 aircraft it will place with Lufthansa's budget unit, Eurowings (EW, Dusseldorf), on six-year wet-lease contracts beginning next month.

A deal presentation seen by ch-aviation indicates that of the thirty-three aircraft (eleven A319s and twenty-two A320-200s), four A319s will be based out of Hamburg Helmut Schmidt while Munich will be manned with four A320s, Dusseldorf with three A319s, Cologne/Bonn with two A319s and six A320s, and Stuttgart Echterdingen with two A319s and five A320s.

Internationally, three A320s will be based out of Vienna with two more to be based out of Palma Son Sant Joan. The remaining two A320s will be deployed to another yet-to-be-named base in 2018.

Air Berlin will also wet-lease five A320-200s to Austrian Airlines (OS, Vienna) with placements set for March and April 2017.

Given that it involves two major competing airlines with significant potential consequences for the German market at large, Germany's Federal Cartel Office (Bundeskartellamt) will be required to sign off on the lease agreement before it can take effect.

Lufthansa cancelled FRA-NRT on 9th January.

Lufthana will continue to fly from FRA and MUC each daily to HND. On the other side partner ANA continues their double daily flights from HND to FRA and daily to MUC.
From DUS there is the only nonstop flight from Germany to NRT by ANA. Starting next summer ANA will use B789 on this route replacing B788.

Santiago de Compostela and Nantes are new routes from Munich next summer
http://newsroom.lufthansagroup.com/e...om-munich.html

Up to now no new long-haul route/destination has been announced by Lufthansa for the upcoming summer neither from FRA nor MUC.
Only 3 weekly FRA-CPT introduced last December will be year round and FRA-NBO will be increased from 4 weekly up to 6 weekly.

Lufthansa have announced they will be upgrading Munich - Mumbai - Mumbai to an A350! That makes it 2 of 3 A350 destinations to be in India, after New Delhi.
