Ancient city of Rome

This thread is for everybody who wants to try to figure it out what was ancient Rome looked like. Where to start? Logically, in city center... Forum Romanum. Since Forum Romanum is large complex itself which is composed of various buildings built through couple of centuries, I'll pick at random...

One of first things that got in my eyes is Arch of Septimus Severus. This thriumphal arch was built in AD 203 and was dedicated to commemorate the Parthian victories of Emperor Septimius Severus and his two sons, Caracalla and Geta, in the two campaigns against the Parthians of 194/195 and 197-199.

One more picture of the arch. In this picture arch is surrounded by colonades. Right colonades belong to Temple of Saturn built in 497 BC (700 years before the arch) and left colonades are remnants of Temple of Vespasian and Titus built in AD 87.
