as far as I know the most expensive one is Hasip Paşa Yalisi with the value of 170.000.000 USD. If we dont count inestimable palaces and pavillions.

Nice pictures...I have been thinking of going to Istanbul for some time now, and I would like to ask if someone could tell me what time of the year that they would recommend visiting Istanbul? And furthermore what part of the city one should find a hotel in? (e.g. a lively place with walking distends to cafes, shops, some of the attractions etc. )

well, i dont live in istanbul but i visited istanbul in spring, april.istanbul is very beautiful in spring, but i think the members where live in istanbul could give u better answers.

the hotels in beyoglu/taksim are the most rated by tourist, the center of the city, you'll find anything you need there.

Really sad thing is Ottomans did build nice buildings, but only in Minor Asia,....In Balkans all of their city-centre remains look like mountain villages,...
