well, I'm serious that i'd like to move to Turkey, if that's what you mean. I've been thinking that it would be a good break from northern Europe - to continue my career (and life) in the mediterranean. Not for ever, for five years or so - learn the language, write a book, travel, eat, make new friends.....I'm getting old(er) - i need a change!

Istanbul: I'd like to live there because it's a truly global city, timeless, magical, beautiful, strange, and surrounded by water. It has everything. It is the obvious choice.

Izmir: I'd like to relocate to Izmir because it is in the heart of the Aegean - a part of the world i have been fascinated with since reading greek myths and legends when i was 6 years old. It also seems like a very attractive, modern city, with a sensible urban development strategy. Perhaps it lacks the international bustle of Istanbul, but the sheer beauty of the natural harbour, the close proximity to so many archaelogical sites make it atttractive to me. If Istanbul is the new New York, I think Izmir could be the new Barcelona. (although such comparisons are stupid in reality I hope you know what I mean)

Antalya?

It's like the French Rivera except hotter and minus the French (c'est une blague mon frere Francaise!). Also, that wonderful university campus by Cengiz Bektas. Antalya seeems like the perfect Levantine city to me - North African, European, Middle eastern influences combining harmoniously. It's a good size, is very stylish and the landscaping throughout the city looks excellent.

So – yeah, it’s a tough choice!!

istanbul is the perfect choise for your career.more cosmopolitan, more jobs, more international firms and you can teach english in a school easily. the best thing to make money for you, you can learn Turkish in there easily too.
Antalya is tourism centre its very very active in the summer. and i can say more international city than istanbul
Izmir; well.. i have never been there people say; wonderful city but its not more attractive than Istanbul. it havent got much business potantiel. so istanbul and ankara are the two city for job and business.

thanks urban girl.

intersting comments - though what you say about Izmir makes it more attractive! - it's all about potential . . .

But Istanbul is just so impressive.
