Downtown Oakland has some really great architecture, but the skyline itself isn't as impressive as it should be. 6.5/10

I think there were FAA imposed height limits until recently because of the Alameda Naval Air Station, which was right
across the estuary from downtown.

I had a friend who used to live in downtown Oakland. He said he always heard gun shots everynight. Plus my friend got robbed there before. Unsafe place 3<

Nobody in Oakland considers San Francisco their downtown, trust me! Oaklanders are way to proud of their city, including their downtown. JUst ask anyone from Oakland and they'll tell you.

Oakland has a good skyline (and given a recent proposal will soon have some real height) for a city its size (400,000 or so) and it doesn't hurt that San Francisco is only a couple miles away

some pics i've collected. . . .
