Right carriageway reconstruction of A8 in direction from Jaunolaine to Riga should start this month. Today I noticed from the train that few km before Riga border middle crash barrier has been disconnected by few meters with work signs installed.

News from LVC about new road construction opening season:

Iestājoties labvēlīgiem laika apstākļiem, uz valsts ceļiem ir atsākusies aktīva ceļu būvdarbu sezona. Plānots, ka šogad pamatdarbi valsts autoceļu tīklā notiks aptuveni 20 ceļu būvobjektos, kopumā atjaunojot līdz 166 km ceļu klātnes.

Šogad tiks pabeigti vairāki valsts galveno autoceļu būvobjekti, kas tika uzsākti pērn - A5 Rīgas apvedceļa (Salaspils-Babīte), A9 Liepājas, A7 Bauskas, A8 Jelgavas un A10 Ventspils šoseju rekonstrukcija jau iesāktajos posmos, kā arī turpināsies jauno autoceļu posmu būvniecība Rietumu – Austrumu transporta koridorā (E22).

Tāpat šogad ir uzsākti jauni rekonstrukcijas darbi uz autoceļa A8 Jelgavas šoseja no 10. līdz 19. km un A10 Ventspils šoseja no 23. līdz 36. km, bet drīzumā plānots uzsākt A3 Valmieras šosejas no 1. līdz 27. km, kā arī A9 Liepājas šosejas no 79. līdz 97. km posmu rekonstrukciju.

Remontdarbi atsākti arī uz vairākiem reģionālās nozīmes autoceļiem visā valsts teritorijā. Paralēli notiek intensīva ceļu sakārtošana pēc ziemas, un svarīgākajos maršrutos asfalta segumu defektu remonts tiks pabeigts līdz maija beigām.

4. Direction to Riga. I asked a local if it's even possible to drive on the unfinished road till the roundabout North of Koknese, he replied that the railway bridge is incompleted and you can't.

Good news for travelers from Riga to Jelgava via Ozolnieki. The entire route finally will be pleasant to drive, because after construction works on A8 carriageway in this direction it will be in perfect condition, works have already started some time ago on stretches near Jaunolaine and this week in Dalbe.

also they are widening that last km of Vienibas gatve. it took just 21 year to do it but better later than never

Pamanīju jau pagājušo nedēļ! Interesanti, ka Jaunolaines un Dalbes posmos satiksme nav novirzīta pa pretējo joslu.

Any news about A2 Riga - Murjani reconstruction? Currently it is in tragic condition..

It looks like it's being widened to 1.5 lanes. Though i doubt it.
And there are no plans for any section of A2 currently.

There will be added roadside which will consist of sand, the pavement width should remain the same.

A9 (Rīga-Liepāja) 0-10km. Continuing of road reconstruction.
P74 (Siliņi - Aknīste) 0-22.5km. Starting works for reconstruction. Current speed limit lowered from 90 to 70km/h.
