SHENZHEN | China Gate | 608m | 1995ft | 130 fl | Pro

700-Meter Megatall Skyscraper Proposed for Shenzhen

Chicago-based bKL Architecture has unveiled their concept design proposal for H700 Shenzhen Tower, a new tower and plaza located in Shenzhen, China. Anchoring the gateway between the central business district (CBD) and the surrounding natural context, the tower, rising to approximately 700 meters, becomes a technical expression of the developing region, while the surrounding plaza provides a cultural focal point for the eastern expansion of the city.

The plaza includes retail, civic, and institutional structures, providing the perfect opportunity to become the cultural epicenter within the new development.

The tower’s elegant form is composed of three transforming design components: the shape, the structure, and the sky gardens. All three design components ground the tower in a continuous interaction between people and nature. The tower is bold, technical, and strong, while at the same time refined, natural, and elegant.

At 700 meters, it would be the tallest building in China and the second tallest building in the world if completed today. It would be approximately 100 meters taller than any other building in Shenzhen, which continues to expand rapidly despite signs of an economic slowdown in China.

As one of several cities in China’s Pearl River Delta, Shenzhen is a central element of a growing urban conglomeration centered around the mouth of the river. As the area continues to expand and densify, the need for supertall and megatall skyscrapers is poised to increase.

Duplicate from this thread: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showth...enzhen&page=23

This tower in question is the red circle. The purple circle is the existing Kingkey 100. At most you can say this particular architect proposes to change the planned 300m red circle tower to a 700m one. Article does not specifically say whether this was commissioned by Kingkey or not.

Really? Feels like it's been ages since the last proposal. Though that's probably because we were super spoiled before.

Fantastic. After checking the renders it isn't neither the Caiwuwei plot nor the likely never-to-be-built Evergrande 600m+ tower. What a fantastic cluster!

i think it's the caiwuwei plot. the lake looks like it, the tall tower close could be a bad render of kingkey and the view where you can see the skyline in the background fits to caiwuwei if you look at distance and angle to SEG and Ping An

It isn't Caiwuwei tower, but it is part of the masterplan redevelopment though. The H700 tower would be here.

On the other hand they may have changed the location of the main tower for the Caiwuwei project to this.

With no developer this project is likely to end up as a vision proposal.

yeah, that's the fear I expressed earlier. This could be what Pingan FC was supposed to, hopefully someone picks it up.
