This picture was spotted on display at a promotional event (unrelated to this project) hosted by Kingkey. The chairman and CEO Chen Hua refered to the tall building as "Kingkey200", implying it is 200 floors? Some food for thought

this is mere speculation on my part but I think this might reach 900m(assuming of course that the stingy civil aviation authority give the permission),I mean if Kingkey 100 was 450m tall this should be around double that, especially considering that its shorter neighbour is supposed to be almost 700 meters tall.

I just hope we officially get an approval for this one cz it looks stunning although I have my doubts cz we were there before with Shenzhen and most of its high-rises fall in the proposal section in this forum. But fingers crossed this is serious now

Nexus was the fat 599m proposal from PLP,this is the older OMA proposal(and apparently final design) 666m-700m tower, now if there isnt any height decrease on the shorter tower we are looking at a 850-900m tower for the taller tower.

Is that even possible? I mean there's a reason a lot of Burj Khalifa is spire.

I'd have to think with a suitable footprint for offices and mixed use if it tapers, no reason why you couldn't have a sky lobby every 40 or 50 floors. Basically could treat it as two 100-story buildings on each other with mech serving lower half and upper half ala Petronas or similar to the old WTC or many newer buildings.

If the structural system is robust enough, I can't see why wouldn't be possible at all. Expensive probably, but doable.

Edit. Without seeing a floor plan, it looks like it combines the best of triangular stability, along with doubling up of mega columns at the sides, slightly curved façade and floors for more integrity, along with defined truss sections / brace framing.

If we've already got Ping-An to about 600m just through mega columns and a large, square office plan alone, I can't imagine pushing 100m more is too difficult, especially since half of it is a nice crown anyway.

Structural system reminds me of a beefed up Ping-An or kind of like Taipei 101 in some ways. Plus a (probably) triangular core or something and it seems solid.

Words from the real estate speculator community are trickling in now...Someone quoted Kingkey's Chen Hua that:

This H700 building is 739m tall with 169 floors. It will sit on the site currently occupied by the Universal Hotel on Hongling Road. The preliminary name for it is "China Gate".

That skyscraper would look really good in London, judging by its design

Don't mean to be sour but I think the maximum height will be 600m because of the aviation regulations but let's hope I'm wrong

Are there, or are there not, aviation regulations here? Pretty confusion for those of us who does live in Shenzhen to understand what the rules are here?
