CHARLOTTE | Projects & Construction

Here are photos of Skyscrapers which will be part of Charlotte's 2008 skyline.

The Vue - 50 stories (maybe more)

The Epicentre - 53 stories(under construction)

The Avenue - 36 stories(Under Construction)

Trademark - 28 stories(Under Construction)

615 East Morehead - 34 stories

Courtside - 17 stories (nearing finish)

The Park - 21 stories

The Ritz Carlton - 15 stories

12 Hotel - 33-35 stories(not final rendering, just idea of what building will look like)

Berkman Tower - Around 35 stories(very rough model)

Wachovia just announced a new tower the other day. There are no rederings of yet. Wachovia says it will be around 45 stories (under Construction)

The Citidan - Two 10 story towers and Two 25 story towers. The ten story renderings are complete. The rendering shows the two 25 story towers but the models are incomplete.

230 South Tryon - 12 Stories (almost finished)

There are many midrise buildings under construction or approved as well. Here is a link with those projects in detail

Those are some nice projects that are coming to Charlotte. I'm really excited to see those when they are finished. Hopefully I'm around Charlotte when that happens. Hopefully they can add and bring higher skyscrapers in the future so it can add more dominance and power to the skyline that we have.

They are the type of buildings we need in Christchurch to help our skyline move along. We're only starting!!

Very attractive buildings for a attractive sounding city.

yes. they started blasting in the ground today actually.

it may be the tallest in charlotte if the city and wachovia nail down a few more things with the project. those things include an afro american cultural center, performance hall, and two new art museums. it will be an amazing project.

they are going to finish in 2009. final plans are coming together.

Style,

I hope you and the other Charlotte people will help me keep this thread up to date. You guys know more than I do. Maybe you can provide some photos or something from construction.

What about some photos of Courtside??

Vancouver has mastered condos, Toronto is doing good job with them, and we can now add Charlotte to the list of cities that know how to do condos.

I'm really happy for the SSCers of Charlotte Great to see!

As far as we know what is essentially Four Wachovia (First Union) is dead. However, Wachovia is in the process of designing a massive complex (for Charlotte). From what the Observer has reported it will involve "exciting" architecture. Here's the link: http://www.charlotte.com/mld/charlot...s/13958760.htm

They say it will be between 40-45 stories, maybe a little over 50... but the corporate HQ is only 42 stories, so I think we're in for a new HQ. If so, it may end up being a new tallest for Charlotte. Here are some images involving a few details, in the first one notice all of the elevators in the office portion, looks to support more than 40 floors to me: http://static.flickr.com/19/110211288_09c51b3527_o.jpg

This is preliminary drawings of the site plan: http://static.flickr.com/48/110443959_24f2e16997_o.jpg

Wachovia is being really quiet on this project, there haven't been any renderings as of yet, but hopefully that will change soon...

Yeah, some people think the new Wachovia building will be 70 stories...we will have to wait and see though. Wachovia is saying around 45 stories right now though. They have broke ground and there are no renderings of yet. So a lot can change.

Thanks for the update. From the looks of the links you posted,Wachovia is going to have a quite few new buildings going up.I wonder if any other major banks are considering locating their HQ's in Charlotte. With the New NASCAR HOF and the cultural center being built, there will probably be a demand and need for more hotels.Hmmm.....maybe a Peachtree Tower for Charlotte?

A great list. I agree the Vue is awesome. I just wonder if the developers of Wachovia are waiting to see how tall Signature Nashville will be so they can top it. As it stands now, Sig will be 850 but the concensus among Nashville posters is it will be rising well over 900'.

Just don't either of you (Charlotte or Nashville) go topping BOA Atlanta. That would be criminal and might even be illegal.
