The Israel Airports Authority plans to publish a BOT (build, operate, transfer) tender in the second half of 2007 for a 120-room hotel at Ben Gurion Airport’s Terminal 3. The four-star hotel will serve both incoming and outgoing passengers and air crews.

Airports worldwide have similar hotels, especially airports that handle follow-on flights. Since Ben Gurion Airport is a final destination for most flights, the Airports Authority decided on construction of a small hotel.

Housing and Construction Holding Co. Ltd. (Shikun u'Binui) (TASE: HUCN) subsidiary Solel Boneh Building and Infrastructure Ltd. will build a single-storey 8,000-sq.m. commercial center at Airport City, near Ben Gurion Airport, at an investment of NIS 38 million. A 20,000-sq.m. parking lot will also be built. Solel Boneh will build the skeleton and carry out some finishing.

Two office blocks, with a total space of 20,000 sq.m., are planned to be built over the commercial center. One block is intended as a hotel.

the new wing of the Tel Aviv Art museum is on the way at the next couple of months ,after raising all the money needed for the project.
the architect of this ultra contemprorary piece of art is Preston Scot Cohen.

Libeskind won the architect’s competition for the World Trade Center site in New York.

Daniel Libeskind, one of the world’s top architects, will design the Gadat Ayalon site in Ramat Gan. The 12-dunam (four-acre) lot at the north end of Menachem Begin St. in the Diamond Exchange is slated for residences and offices. Israel Land Administration (ILA) and Ayalon Highways Company Ltd. jointly own the land, currently occupied by a parking lot. The buildings will continue the line of the Sheraton City Tower, Gibor Sport Building and Ayalon Tower skyscrapers.

Ramat Gan Mayor Avi Bar invited Libeskind to his office last November, after Libeskind’s name made headlines globally when he won the architect’s competition for the World Trade Center site in New York.

The Gadat Ayalon site has almost no planning restrictions, which means that Libeskind will have the freedom to utilize his unique concepts.

The lot of the former Arab village of Sumail on Ben Sarouk Street at to the junction of Arlozorov Street and Ibn Gvirol Street will be turned into a complex of high-rises and commercial centers. The group of developers that own the site, among them Africa-Israel Investments Ltd. (TASE:AFIL; Pink Sheets:AFIVY) controlled by chairman Lev Leviev, and Delek Real Estate Ltd. (TASE: DLKR), controlled by Yitzhak Tshuva, and Ramgor Properties Ltd., deposited the development plan last week with the planning authorities.

The companies plan to invest more than $300 million in the project, which will include the construction of two 500-apartment 45-storey luxury high-rises on the 24-dunam (six acre) lot adjacent to the Century Tower. Also slated for construction on the site are smaller buildings and more than 10,000 sq.m. of commercial space. The project, which was designed by the architects Tali and Yaakov Yaar also includes a main square and a greenbelt area.

The Arab village of Sumail was abandoned by its inhabitants in the War of Independence in 1948 and the houses were occupied by Jewish residents. The area zoned for the project includes a number of vacant lots, where 120 people still live as squatters.

Prices of land in north Tel Aviv have reached record levels in recent months. At the end of 2006, Jerusalem contractor B. Yair purchased a lot owned by Mivtahim on nearby Antokolsky Street at price of $280,000 per land per apartment. In February 2007, a group of investors headed by Alony Hetz chairman and CEO Nathan Hetz won a Clalit Health Services for the sale of lot on the corner of Arlozorov and Remez Street for $41.3 million, or $344,000 per land per apartment.
