Airbus A380

There are a lot of controversies about the operational viability of the A380-800. According to me the A380 is the most advanced, comfortable and a very reliable aircraft ever produced. It has proved itself with Emirates, Etihad, Qatar and other A380 operators. I see it as an aircraft for the near future, as the most logical aircraft for short and long haul sectors. The airports of the world are running out of space to accommodate the demand for slots.
One A380 can replace 3 narrow body aircraft like the A320 or the B737.

What are the views of my fellow members.

I think the A380 project is a big illusion, Airbus will never be able to pull it off. We will never see it fly. It's way too big, no airline will be able to fill it, even on hub routes.

Boeing is much smarter going with their new 7E7 design, that will be awesome and every self respecting airline will order it.

I hope Airbus will scrap this nonsense project and develop something sane instead, like a new Concorde or something.

All the small planes, and all the small runways they use. You have a fantastic idea there Waffles.
