Baylor College of Medicine, CHI St. Luke's break ground on next phase of new campus

The Baylor College of Medicine and CHI St. Luke's Health broke ground on Tower 2 in their McNair Campus on April 5.

The new patient tower will house 420 beds and a medical office building. It will be part of the health care organizations' 27.5-acre, $1.1 billion McNair Campus, which will also be the future site of the Texas Heart Institute.

Once completed, the campus is expected to span 1.2 million square feet and have 650 beds across the two towers. It will also include an ambulatory care complex and new facilities for basic science and translational research.

Completion of the projects and the entire McNair Campus is slated for 2019.
