For once I'd like Toronto to spend the money and build things right. Did they build skyscrapers in Central Park to fund Central Park? For a city in panic mode trying to grab the last bits of available real estate for future parkland, erecting skyscrapers here leaves me beyond frustrated.

No no no no no! Every last inch of this needs to be green space. All of it! We should borrow the money if we have to.

Yeah, I'm not keen on it, either. It doesn't need highrises.

I'm not fond of it either, but less of Toronto's usual bland parks that might end up there.
Don't get me wrong, I want a park too. But I'm not sure we should be expecting to get something of the quality of Chicago's Millenium, given Toronto's record of park developments.

I will accept it if it means getting rid of the rail chasm. I like watching towers rise anyway.

I guess this bridge will be demolished, also? A pity, it's a nice one. Parks are nicer though.

The Park will cost close to 1.5 Billion, so they need the the condos to offset the cost.

Its an idiotic approach in my opinion. Chicago's Millennium Park had the same issue with csot, but they got public private partnership to fund the project.

Why can't Toronto do the same instead of erecting boring condos.
