The Labrador Park

Labrador Park

Location
Along Labrador Villa Road off Pasir Panjang Road

Size
16.8 ha

Introduction
The Labrador park is famous for its World War II relics and bunkers. Visitors can experience a chapter of Singapore's past by walking along the history trail. The trail captures the history of the fort and the war. Visitors can also see a casemate (war bunker) and tunnels in the park. Students, especially, will benefit from the educational value of these war relics.

Labrador Park is an oasis of tranquility and natural wonder. The park offers picturesque views of the sea and a rich variety of flora and fauna that will delight nature lovers. These include Podocarpus polystachys, Mangifera foetida and Eugenia grandis. Of special interest is the monocotyledonous tree, Dracaena maingayi, estimated to be more than 80 years old. An aerial staircase built on the edge of the secondary forest will offer you a prime view of the cliff side vegetation coupled with a panoramic view of the sea. The staircase will take the visitor on a leisurely descent down to the jetty. If fishing is your cup of tea, join the regular group of anglers at the sea walk along the promenade.

Labrador Park is one of the parks in Singapore that will give the first time visitor a truly unique experience.

The park is lit from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am.

But, don't expect the tunnels would lead you to Sentosa... Basically, not much to walk in the 2 "tunnels". More like a little museum to me... Maybe, they didn't do up the entire stretch of tunnels since the guide said most was destroyed before the British troops surrendered to the Japanese in WWII. Also, I suspect it's an expensive and difficult project.

Brilliantly presented hyacinthus!

I only been to the park once a while back. It has excellent views of the harbour! I like the pics with the Star Cruise ship.

If I'm not wrong, the park is quite hilly. Think they will place a giant 'Long Ya Men' tooth statue there in commemoration of Admiral Zheng He's voyage this year.
