it must be said that this thread is showing just a part of organic architecture, the most outlandish and often tacky part of it. Don't get me wrong, I have a big respect for a Bruce Goff (who made outlandish buildings but he was certainly fearless, creative and with a vision), but I think that organic means a building that blends beautifully with the environment, more than just curvaceous strange stuff. And it can also be more elegant and refined.

For instance:

the Temple of Hatshepsut to me is an ancient example of organic architecture, at least in the sense of a building that blends very well with the place (If I remember correctly it was admired by Frank Lloyd Wright, and I don't know of many other buildings liked by Wright).
Straight lines, but the shape of the building, the colors, the materials and the position
add value to the place and the building looks like an integral part of it.
