Its because The Tin Hau MTR station is the closest to here. It's right next to Victoria Park right close to the Eastern Corridor ramp.

Why is that?

Anyway, Shanghai's skyline looks more impressive with the completion of the SWFC

Stop posting Hong Kong pics! Everyone knows you are the clear winner since from the start. Give others a chance to post theirs.

Shanghai needs more architecturally distinct buildings before it can be considered on par with Hong Kong. Granted, Shanghai is adding some wonderful buildings such as SWFC, which help bridge the gap, but Hong Kong continues to build strong as well, i.e., ICC and One Island East Center. Additionally, Shanghai needs a better approach to planning than: "Let's put this one here... and this one over here... and that one there." Hong Kong, on the other hand, appears more cohesive and organized. It seems that those in charge have a grander planning vision in mind as evidenced by the amazing transformation of Kowloon.

I like your Cubs avatar

Anyway, The Jin-Mao and the SWFC are the most iconic Shanghai scrapers and also the tallest. Jin-Mao is architecturally distinct. To me, a skyline can be perfect with at least one landmark scraper.

With the case of HK, its geographical layout make its skyline organized especially those within HK Island.

I'd like to know more about that, can you please elaborate more?

my understanding is the Jakarta skyline is spread around the city located along jalan sudirman and jalan thamrin, some midrises in jalan hr rasuna said and jalan gatot subroto and jalan s. parman.

some clusterised office buildings would be in Mega Kuningan and SCBD, monas area and several residential clusters in kelapa gading, kemayoran, and permata hijau...

That's because Hong Kong doesn't have any, or many, residential options in Central - unlike say New York City. Whatever it does have though, are amongst the most expensive around, and very much comparable with prices at the Peak and Island South, such as Four Seasons Place Service Apartments. A 550 sq. ft place in Four Seasons goes for about HK$35,000/month. The penthouse suite went for nearly HK$500,000/month.

If the Ritz decides to build its proposed Ritz Residences in Central, expect luxury prices in Hong Kong to reach a new high.

Aside from Four Seasons, I can't think of any residential blocks in Central (and I don't mean areas like Soho and Lan Kwai Fong - I mean central Central) - can you?
