I think the best thing to say is that the harbor and skyline are interdependent. Without the harbor, the skyline would never have been as great as it is, at the same time, without the skyline, the harbor would never have found anything as good to complement it.

This doesn't just apply to HK but also other waterfront cities such as NY, SF or even Honolulu.

HK harbour in a way is like a river, a huge river kinda as wide as The Amazon.

For years, so many cities turned their backs to their waterfronts. East River used to be a garbage dump for New Yorkers. The Thames is being cleaned up these days. Rallies are held to prevent further reclamation of Victoria Harbour. The city and waterfront were separated entities, and only now are planners beginning to realize the interconnectivity and the need to link the two back.

The width of HK's harbour is ok as long as there are no more further reclamations. We prefre a HK harbour not a HK river

The narrowest portion is less than 2 km wide.

That's pretty short. Again I'm not in favour of them reclaming more land in the harbour.

As reiterated on the local news over and over again over the past few years, there will be no further reclamations beyond Central Phase 3 in the main harbour area, although there is the possibility of a few small ones in the Kai Tak redevelopment scheme and the convention centre extension, but that is likely to meet a lot of public scrutiny.

I wouldn't mind a redevelopment in Kai Tak but the one in Wan Chai, I do mind!

The Wan Chai one is spurred by increasing demand for convention space, as the existing facility is at capacity. Although AsiaWorld Expo was recently completed, the convention industry has huge growth potential, and with Macau building a lot of capacity, the government is reevaluating HK's strategy in attracting major events.

HK is the best skyline in the world. Only NYC comes close, and then Shanghai.
