Yeah, I get the point. But still, the pics show a contrast between great buildings and narrows streets with wires everywhere. I know I'm generalizing but I thinked it was only a particularity of non-developed countries.

The Puxi side of Shanghai still has overhead wires. But Lujiazui, being a new development has their electricity underground

That's the correctly way if whatever city wants to look really organized.
As an example, I live in Colombia, a country located in South America and catalogued as a developing country. In my city, Medellín the second city of Colombia (which you could visit doing click on my signature ), is attending this situation. Every new place or the reconstruction of other ones were reorganized putting the wires underground, and changes are notable.

I hope you visit my thread and give your opinions about this city unknown for almost everyone in this part of the planet earth (I refer Asia).

I think the Filipinos and the Hong Kongo are the most patriotic people in SSC. Sometime though it can be a bit annoying.

It is good to be patriotic but it has to be done in a respectful way.

That scheme is happening in every major city. BKK for example has a plan to put its wires underground especially in the city centre.

As for Medellin. I heard of the city but not how Hollywood depicts it.

He's not drunk. He's patriotic. Hopefully, his patriotism makes a big impact in the country... cosidering that it is sadly not the best country in Southeast Asia right now.

Again his patriotism has to be done in a right way. And as for The Philippines, people have different opinions and to some, its the best country

Here's what I meant.

IMO, they should do something about the wires, or tear them down and stick with candles. Since Intramuros was mostly destroyed during the Battle of Manila in World War II, I guess most of everything inside the walls are replacements of the destroyed historical structures. So maybe they could rebuild the cobblestone streets again if they put the wires underground.
