If I think about the best Asian skyline, it must be somewhere in China, Guang Dong for example.

The river valley is packed with high-rise condo's.

Let's not forget that the area around the CBD contains the majority of the city's heritage buildings which are all protected.

Been to shenzhen, sorry I am not impressed. Picture is another thing, seeing the real skyline is the truth. I agree the do have a few great skyscrapers but they don't make a good skyline somehow. Maybe in the future shenzhen will do well

For Tokyo, I have also been there 3 years back, skyline wise almost similar to Seoul but Tokyo definitely better with high density, what I don't like about Tokyo is lack of glassy buildings and almost all the skyline shares the same color, GREY

to be honest i haven't been to shenzhen so i have no idea how it really looks. interesting to hear the opinion of someone who's been there!

about tokyo. well certainly tokyo has only a few glassy skyscrapers compared to the number of not glassy - that's certainly true. however the number is actually not that low. the marunouchi - otemachi district is almost only glassy skyscrapers some of them are shadeskrapers though but they're still glassy. also many of the skyscrapers u/c right or in demo phase now will also be glassy so you'll be able to see a lot more buildings like that in the future.

personally i don't really think that glassy looks better than non glassy but that's just my opinion.

Shenzhen has a very linear skyline that stretches quite far across, with its tallest buildings spread out.

Because of Shenzhen being directly north of HK, both cities already form a mega skyline.

But they are far apart, because the one near shenzhen is not hk island or kowloon but hk countryside area which has very little skyline

No. The skylines are not connected. Hong Kong's skyline is not directly across Shenzhen River and the bay. I don't think Tin Shui Wai's residential towers for the poor are a natural part of any combined skyline.
