There are plenty of ways to view HK's skyline. I find it more breathtaking viewing it from the peaks.

It will take a very long time before Kowloon gets a full skyline, even with ICC coming up. The projects are too scattered. There are a lot of tall buildings, but they're very spread out across the peninsula.

For now Kowloon's skyline (with the ICC) is still impressive even if it's not that "full"

Actually, in the eyes of the local population, especially those who live in the older areas of Kowloon, all these new skyscrapers are not impressive, but rather an eyesore, since they effectively block out the waterfront and the winds from reaching the interior areas of the peninsula. People first started complaining about Harbourfront Landmark's location in Hung Hom, and the voices got very loud following the walls of skyscrapers in West Kowloon. But the Union Square buildings do look quite nice.

As a skyline yes it looks nice but honestly I agree that it's an eyesoar. It's probably the height is too extreme especially within west Kowloon area. Also, does places like Tsim Sha Tsui need skyscrapers over 700ft?

The eyesore areas are actually along the western edges such as Sham Shui Po, Tai Kok Tsui, and Nam Cheong. Tsim Sha Tsui is rather empty at the moment, as the two sets of supertalls (Victoria Towers and Hanoi Road redevelopment) are well spaced out. East Kowloon (Kowloon Bay to Kwun Tong) have a lot of redevelopments but those tend to be less tall commercial buildings that dont' bunch up like a wall.
