i think it will be awesome.
HK has The Tsing Ma Bridge which is currently the 9th longest span suspension bridge.

The only thing is that, it is not located in the city centre.

To be fair, BKK city core is really huge and packed though. Since considering consistent high-rise line (only west-east) along BTS line (Nat'l Stadium-Phrakhanong), it would be up to 10km-length (equivalent to the distance from begin of Ayala ave. to Ortigas via EDSA). Not to mention to north-south that linked Sukhumvit CBD with Sathorn CBD, and their parallel roads, it composed BKK skyline looks very massive.
Unlike Metro Manila (which has low-rises between each core), Bangkok was planned and formed concept of core-peripheral city. Thus, BKK has only one gigantic core city with dense high-rise while suburbs was functioned as sprawling low-rise pattern.

sorry for my explaining since English is our language barrier. ;P
and sorry again for tons of BKK photos posted by too proud Bangkokian.

This is a better comparison with the skyline in the background from Stonecutters Bridge.

Most ASEAN cities are planned that way including Manila. Metro Manila is actually core-peripheral as well and its city-core is also huge.

Much of its high-rises are concentrated within this area though its southern suburbs are forming satellite cities with high-rise structures.

BKK will have its numerous low-rise structures in the city core as well.

The only difference is how each city was planned. Take Sathorn for example. Much of the high-rise within this areas are concentrated along Sathorn Road or within The BTS route.

Such planning is also similar with Jakarta where high-rise / office developments are centred around Jalan Thamrin and other major roads within the area.

Also note the numerous high-rise developments happening between Makati and Ortigas and in other parts of Metro Manila's urban core.

Notably in the area of Pioneer in Mandaluyong where former industrial plants are being developed to residential high-rises.

Meanwhile, BKK also has high-rise developments in several suburbs since rapid expansion of MRT (at least a new line opens tomorrow), notably, Nonthaburi, Samut Prakarn and Ladplaw-Bangkapi. However, due to how sprawling of BKK suburbs (I could say they are secondary CBDs), it won't be grouped or clustered as new skyline very soon.

Nonthaburi is where Bangkwang prison is located right?

If HK had more land then the territory wouldn't have the skyline that it has now!
