Agree. Seoul is not dense, but the bright lights at night makes it magnificent. I love the second and fourth of grayfox's photo set.

North Korea is a communist country, therefore, there is no class. Everyone is equal.

I think the government of north korea doesn't care if the people get hungry. most of the money is spent in their military.

I notice a resort is now open to foreigners, who are allowed to stay at the Hotel Oe-Geumgang.

i'd rather die than live in NK.
Seoul's skyline i think it's similar to Tokyo in some ways (density yet not much supertalls)
Dubai they build like crazy with great futuristic supertalls but somehow i dont like it. The city is less than 1million ppl,why build so many residental buildings? the environment also doesnt fit. Look great from afar, bit when u come close to it,u'll feel it being...unfilled (dont know how to say...my bad english ) 1-2 roads filled with dozens of 200-300m towers, then if u walk a few hundreds metres away from them,u'll see empty land filled w sands and a few private houses.

My top10:
hongkong
shanghai
singapura
tokyo
guangzhou
bangkok
KL
dubai
manila
jakarta

I don't know how you are connecting population with skyline, because Seoul has seen a bunch of rather interesting new skyscrapers pop up lately :

Although these buildings are not bunched up together, each additional building adds to the skyline. The view from Seoul Tower must be quite nice on a clear day, with a clear view of both sides of the river.

@Wanch: Well, if not slums... They're just low quality.

The road in lower left corner is the only road foreigners are allowed to use. Notice how quality of the houses differs from those in the center of the pic

PYEONGYANG... the capital of the world's most exclusive and closed nation

I do not think Pyeongyang has slums in it... because North Korean people have made an effort to make their capital city beautiful and clean... and the people of Pyeongyang are selected ones in the communistic republic... Someone even said Pyeongyang is more beautiful than Seoul... maybe Jimmy Carter did... of course I cannot agree with him...

The truth is NK has a poor economy by Western standards and is ruled by a dictatorship. Pyongyang is a nice clean city, but I saw a pictorial of the parks of Pyongyang where young men gather. It's not the worst city in the world, but a bit archaic, and lacking life.

Most communist countries don't have a developed economy. As for Pyongyang, it looks deserted in some of the pics. I think the people in NK are being controlled or are being watched thus the lack of freedom.

In some of these pics, Doha reminds me of The Gold Coast in Australia or Panama City
